M&S in London Victoria, Cardinal Place advised that the bazaar is between 8 & 9 am only!
what sort of offer is that? who would queue to be there before office time?!

Useless offer -they could have made it at lunch time at least!

Aylesbury handed out 200 tickets and I was #81. By the time I got there all that was left were brooches (we could only have 1 piece of jewellery each) tea towels, 1 beach ball, mugs, a couple of luggage tags and loads of ginger beer cans & apple sweets! All rubbish items, nothing worth even a penny as it was all marked with M&S 125 yrs!! I was after the leopard print knickers, the red coin purse and the balck jewellery set but none at all available. Oh well, my daughter will enjoy the sweets Lol

I went today, got there at 8.45 for a 9am start. Around 50 - 60 people infront of me. At 9am there were about 150/200 more people behind me.
I met some lovely people in the queue and had a good chat for 30 mins. The cufflinks, purse and scarf had gone by the time we got there but I still got a necklace, brooch, sweets, tea towel and socks.
I would have bought the tea towel and sweets anyway (they are really yummy!!) so I stuck a £1 in the bucket.
Ours had plates of cakes, sweets and ginger beer to drink as you neared the front which was a nice touch! Was all very organised unlike similar events!!

Anyone have a list of stores or know if the Kirkcaldy m+s are doing a penny bazzar?
Yes they are - very long queue today at 9am, I got there about 8.40 & approx 30 people in front of me but all very well organised. Donations are for Rachel House.

I got to Taunton at 9:00am and joined the massive queue! Store didn't open until 9:00 and we finally got in at 10:15! Really not sure why I waited so long. All that was left were sweets and drinks! Quite well organised though but felt sorry for people behind us as other than people coming out none of the staff were brave enough to say anything to the people at the back of the queue about the lack of stock! My sister had been in the queue, fairly near the middle, since 8:00!

Lol wouldn't catch me queuing outside Marks and Sparks at 6.30am just to get my hands on a beach ball and passport cover for a penny. Most of the things sound like tat, apart from a few exceptions you guys have mentioned, but few have managed to get hold of in stores.
Comping Fairy bring some luck my way! :dance:Love my Fiance Spiceboy :happyhear:iloveyou:

I work for M&S but only as a regular customer assistant. I think people need to bear in mind that this is the first time they have done anything like this, some mistakes may have been made but it wasn't intentional. On other busy days such as people collecting food orders on Christmas Eve our shop runs like a well oiled machine, the staff do the same thing every year and everything is planned for, no one knew what the reaction to this event would be.

The branch I'm at is one of their smaller branches and despite opening at 9am people started queuing before 7am! By 8.30am the queue was sizeable and by 9am huge. That took us all by surpirse, but there were plenty of extra staff around and everyone was doing their best to give customers a pleasant experience.

2 million items given away and using the event to collect for charity...I can't think of another retailer that has come anywhere close to doing something similar.
