Parkgate Shopping had sold out before 10am, by the time I got in the store they only had the ginger beer and sweets left.
British Home Stores is next door and the Cafe manager was going down the queue with vouchers for an 8 item breakfast and a hot drink for £3!!!!
(It was delicious by the way:) )

They were doing that in Harrogate and Debenhams were handing out free coffee vouchers too! Bargains galore :D

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

Our branch only allowed us to have 1 item from each table, so got a jewellery set, cufflinks, passport holder, bag of sweets and something else. However... as I was 2nd in the queue, the manager asked the person in front and myself if we were together and we said yes and we had built up a rapport since queuing at 7.45am. The manager said there would be a surprise for us and to wait after we had got our 5 items.
To my amazement he said as we were the 1st ones, we could buy any 1 item in the store up to the value of £50 for 1p!!

I couldnt believe it - I got a lovely linen jacket for £35 as there wasnt anything for £50 and it cost me a 1p.

Dont think this will be happening again though.

That was so nice, what a lovely store manager. :rotfl:I am not very impressed with my local M&S, it was very disorganised this morning - think I'll come to your store in future (which one is it ?)

i really would like to go but im scared im going to get crushed to death.
i can't go early because im worried that the queues will be ridiculously long and then i'd be late for other stuff i have to do.

I think you'll find that most stores were very organised and certainly no chance of being crushed to death although I do see your point if you have to get to school/college/work early but if you get in the queue early you'll be in and out in no time, I was at work by 9.30.

Anyone else queuing this morning secretly thinking.. I wish I'd thought of having a little board up saying anyone else an MSEr???!!

I was.. I reckoned there must have been quite a few of us as everyone I spoke to about it hadn't heard of them doing it!

DH went (I work in a school), & being male, he got there at 8.50am...when the queue was hundreds deep.
He had to queue for an hour as only 10 at a time were allowed in, by which time he had a small choice. He says the queue was enormous by 10am & some people were acting surprised (as if nobody else reads the papers!)

Mug, sweets, ginger beer, necklace/earrings & pants .... he left the beachball & frisbee!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
