wolvesfan - it's probably not a good idea to slag your employer off on a public talkboard.
I got the impression it was the customers - bargain hunters/chancers people thinking they were going to get something-for-nothing-brigade etc - they were slagging off, not his/her employers.
It's only a game

don't know if this has been mentioned but i've just seen...
The first 700,000 people who queue outside stores will be given a free "peel and reveal" prize card.
The prizes on offer include cash jackpots of £12,500, the chance to buy products from the M&S 125 range (rather than the 20-product Penny Bazaar range) for 1p and discounts on clothing ranges.

Hi I was pleased with my things a teatowel which i think is very nice a mug sweets fisbee (dog will like that) some things had gone by the time I got there but I tought it was well done in that the queue was in one place and they only let in so many at a time I got there at 8.50 and was in for 9.30 so not bad and a good local charity that I support anyway so I did give more than 5p!:T0

I turned up to the Cardiff Queen Street M&S Penny Bazaar and have to say it was a great experience with the smiles on the faces of the people in the queue all around patiently waiting to get in (organised at ten at a time). Strangers actually talked to each other so it was really like stepping back in time when things were 1p and it wasn't considered odd-ball to strike up a proper conversation with someone unknown. As for the items, well 5p you can't go wrong and I would imagine eBay will see quite a few of them over forthcoming months including the souvenir plastic bag and the leaflet. So, if only for a penny a smile, it was all worthwhile. I'd definitely go back. Staff were even handing out hot chocolate and M&S biscuits to people in the queue (just to begin a proper addiction) and I bet the staff at the totally empty Carphone Warehouse would have wanted to announce a similar deal to those lined up outside. Shame about the man who decided he was going to almost dive on the biscuit tray and grab as many as he could much to the discern of the poor girl holding them, but there you go. Great idea M&S and fantastic marketing ploy.0

I didnt actually realise it was for charity when I turned up at the store, I thought Id have to wait at the tills to pay. I think if m and s had made a bigger issue of the fact it was for charity then they would have got more then 5 of my pennies- I thought the buckets were just a way of getting people out the door quicker! The knickers given away were not the ones advertised and i was towards the front end of the que and thought it was rubbish that they had so little stock of everything, a lot of people qued for a long time to leave empty handed.0

I guess you have to be there at 9 or else forget it. I wandered into the store at 11 and the tiny section that was the penny market was empty. There was a sign saying to come back tomorrow. I would have thougth that they would have had it for more than an hour and a half if it was that long. Very disappointed.0

What an offer!!! I got there first on the way to work and was allowed to get any item for 1p. Choose a suit jacket and they said I could have the whole suit worth £149 for 1p.
I then went to the store near my work in Bradford and got two ties, two piceses of jewlery and some knickers for the misses for 5p. Was especially good as I skipped the queue by going in through another entrance and "accidentally" joing the queue inside near the front.0 -
I got to blackpool at 845 this morning with my 4 and 2 year old, i was mid-que, they were letting 25 people in at a time, so i qued up as it wasnt that bad, prob 100 people in front of me as i got in 4th, the rotations were only taking about 5 mins, anyway, they has people giving out leaflets and bags one lady gave my son a leaflet then another gave me a bag, i asked if he could have one she got funny with me and huffed off to see but never went back, so 5 mins later i went to ask her and she basically threw it at me! feel like complaining as he only wanted the ball, pop and frisbie nothing special that probably isnt even worth 1p! Anyway i got the necklace, mug towel, the scarf ties and cufflink had gone by time i got there, which was a shame, wish i got the luggage tag now, but hey-ho! my 4 year old did enjoy it after all that and had a fun morning out!0

Norwich queue was very orderly and had no problem getting in, I arrived at 08.50, store opened at 9, was out again at about 0915
But why did it say choose any 5 items?
Norwich were handing out bags with pop and sweets in, then you were allowed to pick a further 3 items, altho not allowed to touch, as they had to be picked up by your personal shopper who was watching like a hawk.0
