    I;'m here - it is a bit quiet isn't it? Usually I'm 10 pages behind by 11!

I'm here but not for long!

We did our nursery yesterday - should have painted it myself as it def needs a 2nd coat. 2 guys - rushing and missing bits, looks all blotchy. Didn't want to put 2nd coat on but will have to so it will be even brighter now

Left In laws doing my skirting boards, radiator, door and blind - furniture not going in there until June so will post a pic once it's finished.

    Good luck Claire

Shell - do u want labour vibes?!!

I'm having trouble sleeping as well at the moment - can't drop off then waking constantly with pains in my hips. Not good!

Thanks Krystal, unfortunatley, all the receptionsts here went to the same charm school , they don't do nice ones. lol I just love the way they imply you sit with the phone on redail for 15 minutes trying to get through because you think it would be fun!
ooh we have one of those "very useful" automated things so I get annoying tinkerly music and we are currently experiencing a high call volume, if your call is not urgent please try again later, you are now in queue position 4

Sugar - I don't think there are any supermarkets that do nursing vests, possibly Asda do, if they do they'll be on the asda george website as not all stores do the maternity range. MFD who is now on the parent thread recommends the mothercare ones tho

thought it was really quiet! Guess everyone's still catching up from the weekend :D.

I can tell in the future the morning train journey is going to be a bit...painful. Felt well nauseous this morning and know it's only going to get worse! Never had problems with motion sickness in my life.

Not unless i can go into hospital and have an epidural right away ~ then I'd feel no contractions, feel no SPD and feel no sore botty!:rotfl:

Wish we had a nursery for the baby. He will be sharing with us until he is 17, or we win the lottery, whichever comes first :D

I must admit that whilst some medical receptionists do resemble 'dogs with a bone' it's not always their fault!

I have 3 people constantly answering the phone and dealing with patients on the desk - it takes one awkward patient to tie some up for 15 minutes and then others have to wait.

This morning our computer system was down, I was at another site, my deputy doesn't work a Tuesday and the other IT person was off sick. Some GP's refuse to see patients without all the notes in front of them so the girls are trying to sort that out, THEN a patient has died and 1 person is trying to sort it out which can take ages dealing with relatives, funeral homes, getting death certificate and she's supposed to be on the phone!

Oh yeah and a poor women who is soooo worried about her baby she has insisted on seeing 4 different doctors

    Welcome to my world!!!!

annoying as the automated phone thing is at least you can pick from prescriptions/emergencies/appointments etc so once your in position #1 you speak to someone v quickly ;)

Hey, I'm da Boss!!! I get face ache when I ever have to cover on reception from smiling too much and being ridiculously helpful! I started off as a receptionist many moons ago..............................

I have to keep them in line and remind them to smile and be nice even when snotty patients are telling them that they pay their wages!!
