Well I'll have to go in a mo, need to shower and hopefully poop first :o I've got my GBS swabs today - oh the joy of having MW swab my botty n lady area! :rotfl: fingers crossed I'm clear!!

I was talking to my sis at the weekend and she revealed why the larger ladies get treated by narky doc's. Its because it causes them a right royal ball ache :p most equipment in a hosp has a weight limit of around 20stone so if ur above that they can't use them coz if they did and they were to break the health and safety police wouldn't be happy so they have to arrange lots of extra equipment and have extra staff to help too.
So in summery its not really the larger lady they dislike but more the extra faff in struggling with supplies etc but they let it show which they shouldn't.

Did that ramble make any sense whatsoever??

Hey, I'm da Boss!!! I get face ache when I ever have to cover on reception from smiling too much and being ridiculously helpful! I started off as a receptionist many moons ago..............................

I have to keep them in line and remind them to smile and be nice even when snotty patients are telling them that they pay their wages!!
Whenever someone used to use they I pay ur wages line it drove me sooo mad!! I wanted to say, well ur a stingy get coz I need a pay rise to deal with all ur ship!! :p
but instead I would say I think you'll find my wages are paid by the company I work for the same blooming company that pays ur wages you snotty little contractor!!:rotfl: ok so I didn't call them a snotty little contractor but u get my drift!

  • Sami - thanks - will take some pics tonight and post them up. We still need a blackout blind, mattress and bedding but we're getting there (and it's still early days!) We started reading a baby book last night and didn't even get through the first chapter of how to prepare for the arrival before we realised we needed a serious sit down and notebook session. Just so much we hadn't even thought of to help make the first few weeks easier.

Don't forget to post ur list here so us 2nd+ timers can let you know if half of those "essentials" are actually useless ;)
I'll tell you now that a top n tail bowl is one of THE most useless inventions ever IMO:p

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Sorry Glam! I didn't have to actually speak to the receptionist once I arrived as we have an automated self check in thingy :D but I presume they must have been extra busy this morning due to the bank hol.

Was in with Doc for about 2 mins, agreed witht he hospital and to go back if the anti b's don't clear things up. No need for an inhaler.

Felt a bit sleepy when I got home so I'm in bed with the lappy. Think it will be back to work tomorrow:rolleyes:

Ah but you see people think they pay our wages because we are NHS staff and they pay their taxes therefore are paying our wages!

A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?
  • Top n tail bowl?! What's that?!

It was more the things to do ahead of time to make the first few weeks easier... prob obvious stuff for seasoned MSErs but I think we'll have a little notebook and calendar anyway to keep us on track. Will update when we have the list! DH was feeling mildly offended that it seemed to imply husbands and partners were a bit useless and therefore the mums had to prepare ahead but decided to get over it :D
