Having originally been with BT (phone) and Wanadoo (broadband), I signed up for TalkTalk's 'free broadband' service (with landline and calls chucked-in) in April. Although I've been billed ever since, I still haven't received my broadband starter kit (so we are now 4 months behind schedule). My 'go live' date was mid-June, but every time I call I get a new story about my MAC code getting lost, expiring, etc...
Obviously I have called repeatedly..I am now on my 4th MAC code from Wanadoo/Orange. The last CS chap I spoke to actually gave me his personal email address to send the MAC code to Have decided this is the last chance they are getting before I go to another ISP (after reading some of the posts on here I'm starting to wonder wheter it's really worth it). Because they have failed to send me anything (or connect my broadband), through NO fault of my own, would I be within my rights to cancel everything without charge?
I'm now paying more than I ever was for my combined phone/internet bills as every time the MAC code expires, Wanadoo continue to charge me.
Talk Talk really are a bunch of jokers. They make it SO hard to actually talk to someone....I'd love to go down to HO and interrogate the head of customer services, '24' style.0 -
well Im having big problems too and they aint doing anything to sort it.
When i originally called em about the package they promised they connection would be fast, suitable for online games and that full support was avaialable.
The connection is always there but often wont do anything.
The free modem and filters have never arrived, but i use a router.
the 2mb connection promised is 1 mb and very slow at that.
Ive been over charged on my second bill and they lump 2 months bills together so you pay double and then the connection fee too - almost £100 in one month.
I have emailed repeatedly - and just get a reply asking for security details but no reply.
I have rung - waiting for ages to be disconnected.
I have written and got 1 response - 5 weeks later telling me everything is fine, in very polite bull - but did not answer any of my questions or problems.
I have now written back telling them to give me the service I am paying for or I will move back to my old providers & take them to court for the connection fee and hassle involved
dont use talk talk
Gnever take advice from broke or unsuccessful people

Finally got a reply after writing to G Poole (see my post on 7/08; page 7).
Very carefully worded letter though. Says they have "completed a disconnection form" and "requested a credit" of the amount owed. Forgive me if I'm cynical at this stage, but still not sure I've heard the end of this.
I've got my fingers crossed; and at least this approach got a written reply!0 -
After letting the staff at CPW sort out all my woes and with their immense assistance receive the modem & software together with user name and password info, I am now in receipt of 2.2MB and a good quality connection (over 13 hours on more than one occasion). Now for the funny bit-I got a letter dated 24th August 2006 advising me that I will go live in June 2006. It would appear that these faceless a-holes dont even know who is connected and who isnt!!Gary Peters Barmy Army!!!!0

After weeks of endless phone calls and emails and ranting and raving yesterday I sent an email to dunstone (think thats his name) and instead of going off on one and writing an essay which I must admit I was very tempted to do, I just put in the title Please Help
Dear Sir
All I want is a Mac, I could write you an essay on how long it has taken and how this and that are, but I am not, please just can you get my MAC.
Thanks
This afternoon I receive an email saying sorry with my MAC cant believe it.NEVER REGRET ANYTHING THAT MAKES YOU SMILE:D

As they advertise Broadband free in the package, surprise surprise the phone side is connected up immediately enabling the £20.99 charge. You then wait months for the FREE side to be CONnected, still paying your supposedly ex provider for god knows how long. benrees is RIGHT, avoid will leave T/T no matter what,A.S.P. Any advice on getting out early?0

I was going to sign-up with these *b*ankers, before reading ALL the threads about them on these boards. From the T&C's i read, i think you are stuck with an 18 month contract!0 -
I have to say we have had no problems. Sounds like we've just been lucky!!

have you contacted your ex provider to get the service removed off the line?0 -
no? Just to get the MAC no. But that is my beef its in T/T interest to leave me where i am, as they get no more money when they do.0
