Someone has started a Petition about their Poor Customer Service.
See:http://petitionthem.com/default.asp?sect=detail&pet=3170#sigs0 -
Hi,
to cut a long story short, I wanted to break the Talk Talk 12 month contract due to moving house. I was more than willing to pay the £70 cancellation fee and tried, and tried, and tried for months with all the problems and more listed in this thread.
There is a lot of talk of cancelling Direct Debits. I was told I could, only to be charged extra for the inability to collect payment when they continued to bill me.
I eventually called from a carphone warehouse shop and got the manager to witness my account closure and make notes on the account. He assured me that if we recieved another bill his shop would cover the bill.
Here is the icing on the cake. our equifax report lists three unsettled Carphonewarehouse credit agreements of £0.
How bad does that look ? given the 4 month ordeal of cancelling, how do I get that removed from the credit report.
They make me want to cry. they were fine when we used the service but boy have they made me bitter.0 -
You need to write to equifax and contest the data, I'd also look at experian as many companies use both agencies. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

I can't believe this thread is still ongoing. Well I can!
This is truly an awful company and it is very hard to get anywhere. I have finally reached an outcome on the phone side of things.
As posted above, they offered me a £10 goodwill cheque a little while back.
However as I had cancelled my DD, my phone was blocked from making outgoing calls and I had accumulated a lot of free minutes. I had already informed them that I was cancelling my DD until my complaint reached a positive outcome and would pay the correct balance manually.
Many emails later, TT have agreed to waiver the final £28 owing.
So in summary:
*If you are not a TT customer, don't go there!
* If you are a TT customer and need to complain, I suggest documenting everything and email to the following two email addresses : escalations@cpw.co.uk and DunstoC@cpwplc.com
And above all:
Persevere!
Good luck, folks.0 -
Just to follow up my post from Monday, I emailed mr Dunstone and received an automated response but have as yet not had a reply.
On cancelling my DD at the bank I logged into my talk talk account online and now have this listed on the My Account page -
INACTIVE ACCOUNT
Please note that this account has been deactivated. To reactivate this account, click on the direct debit link.
Would this have been done after cancelling the DD or have they done this at thier end?
Just re emailed my complaint to the 2 addresses listed by sloughflint so see what happens:mad:0 -

Would you know the best snail mail address to send stuff too, I can only see 1 Portal Way listed.0 -
I wouldn't bother with snail mail. It didn't get me anywhere.
Emails are best but keep resending the email to above two addresses with comments such as " I still haven't received a response to email below" and give clear timelines on how long you will give them before taking further action ( in my case 5 working days)0 -
