Just wondering if Amylouise's court papers have arrived yet? I got a letter offering to accept 200 quid this week as a good will gesture!
  • Nope .... not heard a thing! I go to South Africa for 5 weeks tomorrow .. soooo they will have a hard time finding me!
  • Hi, been reading the threads iro St Michaels/UKCPS. My son parked my car on this road whilst he popped in the shop. Ticket on car when he got back. Couldn't see any signs or markings indicating private parking/restrictions. Have taken photos to show this. Have sent one letter to UKCPS disputing the ticket - this was on legal advise and before I read this site. Got a standard response saying clearly signed - obviously not as per our photos. Won't get involved in any more correspondence unless someone here suggests I should.
Thread looks to have gone quiet since Aug, does anyone have an update - anyone been taken to court yet?
Also noticed an article in Yep, posted June this year, local councillor involvement anyone know any thing about this

yes the terms were posted next to the parking bays at the bottom of the street, so i assumed that it was meant for the parking bays there, not for the unmarked road at the top

You may not get a reply from these posters because this thread is months old.

But I can tell you that nothing will have happened except a series of demands for money landing on the doormat for a few months. Slightly scary letters if you don't realise that this is in fact a scam. You haven't committed a parking offence and you owe them nothing.

Here's a thread with examples of private parking company letter-chains (doesn't matter which company, they all do the same sort of thing). Click on the links and maximise the size of the image so you can see what sort of rubbish letters these scammers send out:

Look and learn, you will see letters from debt collectors and solicitors threatening litigation. But that's all - they don't actually go to Court at all. Most of the current posters on here have had a private parking ticket or six - myself included. We ignored them and they stopped sending letters - end of scam.

They give up if you ignore the letters, they like to stalk easy victims and if you don't reply they never know who is getting their threats, if anyone. They also address their letters to the registered keeper who may or may not have been the driver - there is no need to tell them either way. They are not the Police and they cannot fine you nor can they instruct bailiffs.

Don't phone them, don't contact them, get on with your life. After 5 or 6 letters, with the illegal fine getting higher and higher, they will crawl back under their stone. Your credit rating is not affected as it's not a real debt.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • UK CPS are frighteningly efficient.

Having moved in to Brewery Wharf, our letting agent failed to tell us we needed a permit to use our space. On reflection, there are signs everywhere - but when you have your own allocated numbered space you don't really think to read them. Within 5 minutes we had a parking ticket.

We were lucky, a quick rant at our letting agent and they agreed to reimburse us if we paid the fine.

UK CPS are clearly soulless, we were very obviously new to the building- unpacking the car of all the boxes to move in, driving round several times to find our space etc. You also need a fob to get in to the car park (which we had), so only valid residents can park there in any case.

Hope none of you had to pay your own money over to them!
