Heres something not many people know that i have found out...iwent to citizens advice and was given some information, and i quote 'while a dispute is being considered, all actions to process the ticket must be suspended' ukcps dont offert this...does this void the ticket? just shows how they are acting unaccordinglyas they will continue processing and ask to send payment.
Citizens Advice Bureau = near useless with these issues as the anecdotal evidence on this and other forums will indicate.

They continue to ask for payment because they only want money, they don't care about car parking issues. In fact, a lot of PPCs say you must send payment with the 'appeal'. I am yet to hear about a successful 'appeal' or an instance where someone's appeal was accepted and the money returned.

Yes indeed it was a guy on a mobile. He wasn't very happy when I called his employee a parking nazi. He said he was looking forward to me explaining my comments to a judge. Judging by comments posted already, I look forward to explaining this to a judge, counter sueing them for costs and reporting them to trading standards, amongst other institutions.

I think it's about time people stood up to these con artists.

CAB have proved themselves to be inadequate in terms of knowledge of PPC matters. However I would strongly advise that if you are moved enough by the actions of PPC to make official complaints then always send one of those complaint letters to the CAB. I will assume that as this is MSE then people already know why that is a good thing to do.

    Hi,

My wife was given a ticket on St Michaels Court some weeks ago. We have had 3 letters and the fine is now up to £153. The wifes starting to get concerned now and thinks her car may get clamped by bailiffs.

How many letters before they are likely to give up??
And what's the highest anybodys fine has reached??

Interestingly a no parking sign has since gone up where my wifes car was parked on St Michaels Court. This was definetly not in place when she was fined and I have photographic evidence to prove this! Starting to become irriatating to me now.

    Regards,

This is from the code of practice of the BPA which ukcps are a member of...
    CHARGES
    45) The Standard Parking Charge shall not exceed £75.
    46) The Maximum Parking Charge shall not exceed £150.
    47) Additional Charges may be added to the total
amount payable by the application of County Court
Fees and for the reasonable and justifiable additional
Administration Costs where these are legitimately
incurred in the recovery of unpaid Parking Charges.

and also they are not legally allowed to just take ur car or have any bailiffs round to ur house. They have to go through court which i doubtthey can be botered doing.
    hope this helps

It is important to find out FOR CERTAIN if the place is OWNED by the council or a private landlord. If the place is public(council) land and the PPC is issueing invoices what he is doing is illegal and the council/police should be involved. They could be stealing thousands from drivers who believe they are in the wrong and must pay up or else. If you find out that the land is council and he is stealing then a letter to Paypal and the credit card companies would help to stem his income stream. If it is private land then just ignore them as with any other ppc.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
