Yes i tried to argue that as they were giving the £1000 off for scrappage, why couldnt they give me £1000 of for not having scrappage......but they wont....(Huyundi Belmont).........Why? can any Dealers enlighten us?

It's out of the dealers hands, it's the manufactures giving the extra £1000. So if the dealer gave the £1000 discount they'd be making a loss, & hyundai would be making an extra £1000.

I think if they did give it, Hyundai wouldn't be as popular as they are upon scrappage buyers. One of the reasons I went for a hyundai was because they were one of the few manufacturers genuinely giving the full discount. It may be worth trying to contact hyundai UK head office, rather than a dealer. I did read somewhere a couple of weeks ago an arcticle from hyundai saying they were keen to hear from people who didn't qualify for scrappage, & it listed a number, but I can't for the life of me find it now. If I find it I'll post on here.

Has anybody got the 1.2 Classic i10 in solid red for £4795 (i.e. offer on that specific model in conjunction with scrappage scheme). I was led to believe you couldn't use both but my paperwotk show-

    total price- £6795
    deposit - £100
    balance - £4695

    any comments?

According to the prices on the hyundai site, no you can't

I'd keep quite & see if you get away with it.

We have ordered the new Mazda 3 this week from our local dealer. They have arranged for us to take our car and pick the new one up on the same day. We are the first customer to use the scheme with them but said the scrappage firm would let them know what day they would collect our car so that we can take the new one at the same time. Next Friday is the day:T

I finally found a local Mazda dealer with common sense, so have ordered with them and will exchange the scrappage car for the new one at same time when it arrives in approx 3 weeks time.

This whole scheme seems to be turning into a farce. We have just been back to our local Hyundai dealer, who say they are almost at their wits end trying to comply with conditions which they say keep changing on a daily basis.

Apparently they have been told that we now have to produce the insurance certificate for the car being scrapped, as they have to copy it and send it to BERR (no mention of this on the Directgov website) and they are having to contact all of their customers who have so far placed orders under the scheme to request the insurance certificate.

Last week we were told that a current tax disc was only required at the date of ordering the new vehicle, as stated on the Directgov website. The dealer is now saying that they have been told the scrapped car must be taxed to the date of scrapping, and that the disc must accompany the car to the ATF!

I'm just waiting for the instruction that my daughter (who is buying the car) has to provide a sample of her DNA, 5 GCSEs and a valid library card

Yes, they all seem to now be requesting the car is taxed, MOTd and insured. Seems a bit ridiculous as the government site is still saying the car needs MOT at time of order (and even allows it can be 14 days out of date).

Thats good news, we're only getting ours Friday as its the one from the showroom otherwise we were told it would be 3 weeks. The dealer did say he had a mountain of paperwork to wade through though so hope there are no last minute hiccups.

Our Toyota Dealership asked me last week (happily too help them out so we get the car) for a copy of the V5 and MOT. They didn't mention the insurance as this is not a requirement for the scheme.

Well, the tax disc wasnt a requirement a few days ago, but now it is.
