Been driving our i10 round for a week now. Ordered locally a couple of weeks before and were told a couple readily available in stock, otherwise would be on order and would have to wait. Wondered at the time if salesman was just pushing to close the sale, apparently not. We'd already made up our minds so ordered there and then and now very glad we did as old car was at death's door!

Wow, Im so jealous of people getting them in a few weeks, VW are quoting 10 weeks at least.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Renault Clio 1.2 Extreme at £6,495? I'm thinking of getting one, but the reviews don't put it in the same class as the Feista or Corsa - but obviously they would be 2k more to go for their scrappages schemes.
  • Is it possible to get further discount ontop of the scrappage scheme?

If you mean can you haggle it down further, then nope. The discount is off the list price.

Rakesh, depends on what you are buying - whether there is a margin for haggling. Ive just got another nearly £2k off a VW Golf Plus aswell as £2k scrappage by using a car broker. Obviously on low priced cars, there will be no room for further discount.

How are you liking it Bronnie? I am thinking of one of the following (have posted a thread on this actually, but this thread is getting a lot of interest!):

Hyundai 1.2 i10 cost £5550 (I'd put in reverse parking sensor for £200 and have metallic). £35 tax and lowest insurance

Fox Urban top of the range (?) 1.4 inc metallic R6265 but £120 tax and more exp. ins.

    Toyota Aygo Blue (it's a special) 5 dr £6773

Toyota Yaris T2 1.0 3dr £6549 metallic both £35 road tax and lowest insurance.

(Hethmar - it's your boy that has come up with the Fox and Toyota options)

    Thanks
    Jen

From the manufacturers' websites model for model from the info I was given:
The Fox - List £8705 and he has £6265
The Aygo Blue - £8835 and he has £6773
The Yaris £9675 and he has £6549

    All including the scrappage.

I think I've excluded the Aygo, although it is pretty, but the boot is tiny and that is something that I would like. Still don't know whether to go with the Hyundai or the Yaris! £1000 difference and I will be doing less and less driving in the future.

The comparison sites don't give the Fox a good review, and the Yaris and Hyundai both get good reviews from what I can see.

Those that are collecting their cars now, have prob managed to get stock that the dealer had already called off. Or they have chosen basic cars, in unpopular colours, with no additional options, that were already in the UK and hadnt sold

However, one problem dealers are having now, is they cant get access to stock themselves, so wont have any demonstrators that people can drive, as theirs have been sold. Pandas are as rare as their namesakes
