Just spoke to my hyundai dealer - my i20 is approx 3 weeks away. My car tax runs out at the end of this month and MOT on June 3rd. He said it is not necessary to re-MOT or re-tax the car as it was all valid at time of order. When I first mentioned tax he simply said "we don't need it you can claim it back" (he didn't realise I was going to say it is about to run out).

Not sure if I've got my maths wrong, but it appears that the Kia Picanto is now £300 more !!!

No one seems to know what is the official line. Its a ridiculous situation. Toyota is also now saying it must be taxed.

Thanks for your response. Have signed contract, also paid deposit, but and I quote everything is subject to government and hyundai scrappage scheme terms

Find another dealer. The ES is a limited run, you might be better going for a standard 1.2 i10 - taken from the website:

    1.2 Classic£7,095 OTR: £2,100 Scrappage: £4,995 price after scrappage

It's true that the ES is limited (only 1000 being sold here), but if I had gone for the standard 1.2 i10, I would have been waiting at least 1 month longer until August.

Instead, I will hopefully have my ES in July, if not June, because it was already on the ship on its way here when we ordered. Also, as a young driver...the lower insurance group should be useful (because of the 1.1 engine instead of 1.2)

Does anyone in the Leeds/Yorkshire area know how long dealers are quoting for Hyundai i10 orders?

    Thanks in advance!

    Collect my i10 on Sat.

All ready for me to collect, just had to wait for finance cheque to clear first..
  • There have been a few posts where people are stating they are picking up their i10's over the next few days. I'd be interested to know when you placed your orders for these. I placed mine (i10 comfort) on the 9th of May. My dealer (just ouside Edinburgh) seems to know nothing about when it will be arriving.
