Oh gawd, my little Fabia is full of dogs hairs and dust in every nook and cranny - its going for £1k part exchange along with our scrappage car on Wednesday (if all goes to plan(. How on earth do I clean the insides of all that mess? I got a dog hair remover "in one sweep" - it doesnt work :(

Im surprised to hear that about Poland - is it the same in all east european countries as our local car auctions is about two thirds east european buyers now, buying up several cars at a time. I assumed they sent them back home (though someone suggested it was for more illegal reasons, re using the I.D. on the scrap vehicles?)

    Oh dear.

You CANNOT register a RHD vehicle in Poland. EU law says that you are able to, but Poland has found a loophole in order to refuse the registration of such cars.

The article is complete nonsense - while the spares may be coming our way, complete cars aren't.
    From Poland...with love.

    They are (they're)
    sitting on the floor.
    Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.

Some valeters use an air compressor blowgun to loosen and move around the resistant stuff so they can follow up with a vacuum cleaner. Failing that, can you use your vacuum to blow through the crevice nozzle?

Is the scheme still going in the uk please and if so how much do they give for a 1997 citroen saxo? and can you use the scheme at any garage showroom?

Daughter drives all day with her job so needs a reliable safe car cheap to run and easy to get parts when repairs are needed. She wants a hatchback with 4 doors similar size to saxo can anyone recommend a new car that she can get using the scheme that is not too expensive please as she will be pushing to it buy a new car but thought for what she would get for the saxo which wont be much it might be worth considering the scheme if its still on, she is not keen on fiats

Can you do the swap in one day also as she can't be without her car due to her job?
    Thanx

I scrapped my Pug 405 estate to buy a Mazda2 last week. The dealer told me I had to wait until they had received a certificate of destruction for the Pug before I could take delivery of the Mazda. Took the Pug in on the 1st, collected the Mazda on the 4th. It wil depend on how frequently the scrappie collects from the dealer. I think you should allow at least 48 hours.

Could she take a couple of days holiday or hire a car?

I don't think she can, she will just have to explain things and see if they might be able to get it quicker but at least we are now forwarned that this could be a problem, thankyou. I'll pass it on to her

If anyone can recommend a new cheap but good car with this scheme it would be helpful thanks
    Thanx

You will be entirely in the hands of the dealer / scrappie and will need to ask that dealer what their timescales are.

I am very pleased with the Mazda2. Might be worth her looking at one.

There have been reports recently that scrappage finance may run out as early as next month so best get your skates on.

Ah !!!!!!, I ordered a clio about this time last month, last I heard it won't be ready until October :( Problem is the dealer is 150 miles away so that'll be a struggle with getting back to work on a Monday morning if I picked the car up on a Saturday

Perhaps the only thing in my favour is that on my invoice my car is only down as a value of £1 so maybe they'll let me drive off sooner?

My Mazda dealer told me about this delay the moment I mentioned scrappage. You should call your supplying dealer and find out what their procedures are.
