As a potential new car buyer I just cant help but feel totally ripped off by this scheme ! Are you honestly saying that if I go to a Mazda dealer for instance and grind a deal out, eg Mazda 2 £8745.00 otr cash purchase. Then the next guy comes along with a 25 year old Metro worth £10.00.... £8745.00 - £2000.00 = £6745.00 ! or am I missing something ?0

If you use the scrappage scheme the price would be £8745. If you dont use the scrappage scheme you could haggle some money off. But if you buy any new car your essencially being "riped off" as depreciation is shocking for a brand new car.0 -

I keep picking up the letter and staring at it like a plonker (please say I'm not alone!)
I'm just waiting on my delivery date although it's a 1st of September Registration / 59 plate. Hoping the 1st will be my pick up date.
Anyone else getting a 1st September car?ITV comp winner no 410 -

i'm so jealous was told my car would be end of august or maybe september havn't heard anything yet though what car have you got
I'm getting the Toyota Yaris 1.33 VVT TR in chilli red (base model colour). I could have had it for delivery around the 23rd / 24th August but asked if it was ok to delay it for a week so I could get the 59 plate registration instead. No problem doing this with the garage I used.is it usual to get the reg through the post never had a new car
No idea on this one as its the first "new, new" car I have purchased.
One thing though as the car is not officially registered until 1st September, the online comparison sites for insurance don't work and I had to phone as the registration is not on the data base to pull up the make and model of car. I got there in the end though and my insurance for a brand new Toyota is cheaper than my 12 year old Mondeo. Crazy eh?0 -

I wonder if you can get pre scratched & dented models, so you won't feel sad when the first scrape happens?0
