Car is 13 yr old so thinking of scrapping but don't know anything about buying new. Thinking of Toyota Aygo or Peugeot 107 or something else that level (any sugestions?) Has to be 5 dr automatic, my mother has severe arthritis.
I have looked at dealers websites e.g. RRG, robinandday and drivethedeal.com. The latter is cheaper but I'm uneasy about the idea of buying thru online broker, has it got any hidden disadvantages?
Is there anywhere even cheaper? Where's everyone else buying from - direct from a dealers showroom or some other way?
Would much appreciate any advice on this.0 -

I am buying an Aygo from a main dealer, broker was only £300 cheaper and they couldn't guarantee no price rises, dealer could price fix, offered free Aygo mats, full tank of fuel, and a glovebox lid as Aygo don't have one it costs an extra £66, better than stuffing things under the seat, some brokers make you go and collect it from the other side of the country, main dealer ordering will take 12 weeks for delivery,
I also looked at Peugeot 107 but to get a 5 door you would need to buy the urban which starts at £8795, £970 more than the Aygo 5 door, the base model is only a 3 door,
The C1 is also £690 more than the Aygo,
I also looked at Volkwagen Fox from £6845, 48 mpg, made in Brazil,
The Alto is a new models so I don't know much about it,
Suzuki have the new Alto from £7245 don't know if this base model is 5 door, (64 mpg),
Nissan also do the Suzuki Alto but they call it the Pixo from £6995, I don't know if this model has 5 doors either, I would guess that it has the same engine so the mpg should be the same as the Alto.0 -
I want to buy a Meteor Red Kia Ce'ed preferably an SR-7 but I have not found one or been able to order one. Does anyone know of any place where I would be likely to get an SR-7 (any colour) on the scrappage deal?
I believe the ceed is about to get a facelift/new version. When I enquired about one a few weeks ago the dealer couldn't sell me a ceed as there were no stocks, and said he couldn't even give me a price on a new model as it wasnt announced yet. I bought a Hyundai i30 instead.0 -
Im buying a Golf Plus through a broker - carfile - but they put you in touch with the main dealer and you deal direct with them.0

I have just taken delivery of a new car bought through https://www.dealdrivers.co.uk. They were the cheapest of all the ones I looked at since it did include £1000 extra for scrappage and I wouldn't have got that selling privately.( some of the other sites had similar prices but no scrappage on top)
No downside that I could see. Very happy with a total saving of around £6000 on list price. They put me directly in touch with local dealer and all money went straight to that dealer. Would certainly recommend.:T0 -
Just noticed Hyundai have put there scrappage prices up again (valid from 10th August). When they put the prices up on the 1st July, the website said they were valid until the end of september, I'm sure they've got some disclaimer though. Glad I bought when I did, saved £700 :j

Wondered if anyone else is having trouble getting a delivery date for a Hyundai i10? When my daughter ordered hers about 6 weeks ago she was told it was 'on the boat'. They told her the same thing today. Must be a very slow boat!0

I tried Dealdrivers to buy a car and was very disappointed !! I told them the car I was interested in and the spec I wanted (colour and accessories )and then just received an email from them with the wrong colour and without the accessories added they did not even give me a ring to explain ??
So I phoned them and it was a take it or leave it attitude .It was for a Ford
Another thing that put me off was comments like this on there twitter site !!
"Why is it...that every car enquiry..is 'urgent'. So you drop everything, rush it through to an answer..then they want to think about it" !
" Is it silly season? SO many customers ordered this week, dealer calls them to take deposit and suddenly want to 'think about it'?"
People are probably making there second biggest purchase and if the deal does not feel right what is the problem ???
There are plenty of car brokers out there who do not feel like this0
