You need to keep the disc displayed until you get to the dealer on exchange day and then remember to take it out!

You need to fill in a form which you can download here:

http://www.dvla.gov.uk/~/media/pdf/forms/V14.ashx

and send it off to the DVLA or your nearest licensing office.

You can only claim for complete calendar months so make sure it is sent back before the beginning of the first month after disposal.

The additions I would want (most important first) are:

1. Tilt Sunroof (does not need to be panoramic)
2. Decent loudspeakers and stereo (good speakers hard to retro-fit)
3. Air Con

But as far as I can see on Mini's rather pretentious website, extras come in 'packs' and none of these remotely match the above simple options. Actually I am looking for a suitable UK forum where this is being discussed more thoroughly - any ideas?

If it's a Mini forum you're after the best I've found is Mini2 [dot] com. Loads of owners on there who I'm sure will answer your questions.

no i think they have introduced it because they have lost alot of trade to the Fiat 500 - similar fun car, but the Fiat comes in way below your average mini price of £16k - with the First starting at £11K, it just about overlaps with a mid-range 500

Hi, the dealers will tell you which cars are available. I think most models are but there may be exceptions.

I dont think it will make a lot of difference whether you tell them you want to use the scrappage scheme or not as they would adjust prices accordingly.

OMG it's really happening for me - I got my new registration number through the post yesterday.


I keep picking up the letter and staring at it like a plonker (please say I'm not alone!)

I'm just waiting on my delivery date although it's a 1st of September Registration / 59 plate. Hoping the 1st will be my pick up date.

Anyone else getting a 1st September car?

meee, get mine on the 9th
