    Yes you can cancel.

You just have to be firm and explain terms 10.b1

yes call Ofcom & get a reference number then call 3 back

I joined 3 mobile in January 2009 with a phone on 6 month contract and mobile broadband half price for £7.50p a month for 3GB per month for 18 months BUT the main thing I asked in the shop was about roaming abroad as three had the 3 like home which allowed (as I was told) to use it free (within my 3gb limit) in places such as Ireland, Australia, Italy, etc

I've in fact just returned from 2 months abroad in Australia.

I hear 3 are now removing 3 like home and this is not what I signed up for as it totally changes the reason I got the mobile broadband in the first place. I specifically asked the staff in the about roaming in these countries and told it's free within the 3GB limit as long as you latch on to a 3 sister network.

Is this grounds for being able to cancel my contract with 3 Broadband?

If so what is the best way to get this thing cancelled?

I dare say a lot of other people also joined 3 because they intended to use it mainly abroad like myself. How do we take action against 3 to get out contracts cancelled, reduced?

My advice, if you want to cancel - only deal with 3 in writing. If they call you, say you want a response in the post and hang up. The sole point of their calling seemed to be to lie and waste time in the hope that I would give up in exasperation.

Which Address did you write to?

And was the phone call free? IS it the 333 number yo call? I want to cancel my 3 contract if they are withdrawing the 3 like home service - I'd never have signed with 3 in the first place if this wasn't in place when I originally joined.

    I'll get you an address........

Under UK law notices of all breaches of contracts and termination/cancellation requests under such MUST be addressed to a companies Registered Office for legal reasons if you end up in court this is where you MUST have sent such notice to the other party of the contract, judge can take any other address as optional but Registered Office is not at judge option - judge is tied to "satisfactory notice as served", just need proof of it so Royal Mail Registered or Recorded Delivery or a courier - as long as signed for on delivery 3UK cannot dispute proper termination notice was never given.

    Chief Executive
    Hutchinson 3G UK Limited
    Star House

It might be a busy delivery office in Maidenhead next week LOL !!!

3, recently heard shouting that it wants to see termination fees cut, is quietly dropping its 3 Like Home tariff, which offered international roaming with no additional fees.

The tariff will cease to exist at the end of June, though punters who recently renewed on the basis of the service, and have made use of it, should be able to get out of their contracts. This is despite the fact 3 is now claiming that the tariff was "promotional", and could have been pulled at any time.

3 Like Home was launched in January 2007 and allowed customers roaming to other countries in which 3 operates to use their tariff, including data, as though they were at home. It seemed to address one of travellers' most vigorous complaints - why should I pay roaming fees when I'm on the same company's network in a different country?

3 claims it's pulling the tariff in order to be able to offer "more competitive" prices when roaming off the 3 network, and that the tariff confused customers who accidentally roamed onto a different network while travelling and found themselves unexpectedly being charged international roaming rates.

Making cancellation available only to those who've made good use of the service has annoyed at least one customer, who signed up to the service in order to provide connectivity ahead of a planned migration to Australia. But the network is apparently investigating, and may yet concede in that case.

Roaming data remains prohibitively expensive, as demonstrated at the relaunched MobileMeg site which compares costs to help users planning on travelling; 3 Like Home offered a simple way to reduce the cost of using data abroad, so obviously it had to go.

Went back to T-mobile because that who we were with before joining 3. T-mobile has the best data package (3gb) that I can find. Also allowing you to use the phone as a modem if you need to.
