    Managed to cancel earlier tonight.

Got the message this afternoon, with the sentence about cancelling

They tried offering £20 'good will' gesture and said that's all the txt entitled me to :rotfl:

After quoting their t&c's about a hundred times I got him to speak to his supervisor and got my PAC code

Not bad getting out of 16 months of contract and keeping an n96 :D

I'm surprised three are allowing people to keep their handsets, as theoretically the phone is on loan during the minimum period. So any cancellations before that should require the return of the handset. If I had known this, I would have upgraded last month and waited for the text to come through and cancelled. Oh well! Can't win them all.

The mobile is not on loan, its a FREE gift to access your Telco's services, 3 customers who need to give payment for handset via " monthly video min packs " own nothing as thats part of the breached contract, 3 had to give " video mins" as you cannot as a mobile telco do handset instalments on a mobile contract in UK for handsets like Australia where the ex 3AU boss now at 3UK intended, so handset instalments became for CEO Kevin " video mins".

Kevin will prob get the sack from 3UK for costing not only millions in Early Termination Fee's but also " video mins " that effectively were millions £'s in already heavily subsidised handset instalments no longer due to Three as contracts have ended.

Ant85 how much were your monthly "Video mins" fee ?

    Take for example, Mix n Match 300 is £15 a month, add a Nokia N96, you get 200 " video mins " for an additional £20 a month & a FREE Nokia N96 = £35 a month, now take Ant85 16 months remaining and you have 16 x £20 = £320 lost on N96 alone !! then

    16 x Mix n Match £15 = £240 written off by 3

    = a massive £560 loss !!!

Mate had a FREE Nokia 6220 on a £35 month contract in late Dec, on priceplan alone 12 months left x £35 = £420 + subsidised 6220 we will calculate cost on 3payg at Dec 3Store price = £240

    = a massive £670 loss !!!!
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

Cant help but wonder why three have gone down this route only in the UK, maybe their looking at a possible sell or merger with another network in the UK, possibly like in Australia with Vodafone. As the 3LH service would possibly put another network off any deal, as it would cost them more to run the service?

    Greetings Ladies and Gentleman,

Firstly thank you for all your input on this page, although I have sometimes dropped by here, I have never posted before. But thank you all for your aid.

I have suffered the wrath of 3 Customer services, the cruel long wait and the systematic lies told by numerous CSR's (customer service rep) but it ended with success. The CSR's appear to try and root up anything and everything to stop you cancelling. Many times during the conversation the CSR tried to de-tour, twist words and even blantently lie, insisting that they have never sent a txt message to me. Even worse they said that I could only cancel after the 30th June and recieving a txt msg, thus I had to call back then (which by sheer fluke :rotfl: puts me clear of the 30 day notice period).

For those of you who still have yet to make the call, keep you feet firming dug in. Write a short statement and if need be repeat it as many times as you think nessecary. Parrot on about clause 10.1d and the Terms and Conditions, dont cease putting your case across. They only aim is to stop you by what ever means from cancelling but you have just right under your terms and conditions of your contact.

Best of luck and be safe

Millions? Come on now. I think it is abundantly clear that you actually HATE Three and every post you make is somehow slagging them or wishing they go bust. Why can't you let go? Do you think Kevin woke up one day and decided to do this on a whim? Your posts get more ridiculous by the day.

Thansk to all the previous posters - after 3 calls and a lot of repeating myself I got through to the customer options team and got my pac.

Now, I'm actually quite happy with 3 and my N95 so, it it's the best deal, have no problem staying with them on a sim only deal.

So i guess my question's are:

What's the best sim only deal (payg or contract) - I make about 300 to 400 minutes per month to mobiles and landlines plus a few texts and was paying £28 per month with 3 for 500 minutes.

If I go to another network, how do i get my N95 8GB unlocked?

If I stayed with 3 on a sim only deal, would the phone need unlocking?

Sorry to sound a bit dense but mobiles send my brain to mush!

    Thanks
    Uh?

If you stay with 3, no you will not need to unlock the phone. About unlocking for another network, I usually just go to my local market and there are a load of shops that do it, usually charge about £5-£8 where i live.

Had a call from someone in Executive Office today, saying Im unable to cancel as I've not used 3LH on this current contract. Am I still able to cancel?

    Yes you can cancel.

You just have to be firm and explain terms 10.b1
