Good news all
I have just Sucessfully managed to get my PAC code for 2 three contract phones one that was taken out in September last year & one that was taken out on the 30th March this year .
It has taken 2 solid days to sort out but all i can say is dont give up .
One more phone to sort out & the mobile broadband then good bye three0 -
Well I had another farcical discussion with 3 CS this morning. Received the message with the link WITHOUT the cancellation footnote this morning, called up saying I want to cancel etc etc. The woman repeatedly denied I had received the message and tried to claim 'maybe it was someone playing a prank!!!!' She also denied that there was anything on the link I gave. I offered to forward the text to her, or send her a picture, which she laughed at but said no, if 3 had sent a message, there would be a record and there wasn't.
I had the same surreal conversation and have now written to 3 customer services requesting a PAC for my phone contract and cancelling my mobile broadband.
I have used "like home" on mobile broadband and all my family live in a "like home" country, though I haven't visited since transferring my phone contract to 3 at the beginning of March 2009.
I will pursue this to the very end. And I encourage others to do so. 3 have conceded the principle that this is a detrimental change and now they seem to be trying to pick who they allow to cancel. In doing so, they haven't a legal leg to stand on. I don't see what they are trying to achieve by generating such bad feeling on an indefensible basis.

Warning the Customer Options Team closes at 8pm. I found this out the hard way after sitting on hold for one hour and 42 minutes (from 7.50pm). They don't tell you and there isn't a message saying the department is closed. Guess i'll have another crack at it tomorrow morning.0

Let me get this right. Because Three changed their terms and conditions (cancelled 3 like home) from when I initially signed up for the contract, I have grounds to cancel ? If this is the case I think I'm going to give them a call in the morning and see where I get. The only problem I have is if they let me cancel what will happen to my credit I put on the account.....we'll see I guess0

It certainly seems that way but some on here argue that it isnt the case, as do 3, but it seems persistence pays off in some cases.MasterSimit wrote: »Let me get this right. I wrote to them yesterday via recorded delivery, I'll post here when/if I get a response. Like you, I am not prepared to drop this.0 -

Out of nowhere?
Lets check. The following are all quotes from you.seemed pretty willing to help and understood the text that I said about cancelling with no fee (even though I didn't get it)He wanted to find this out and call me back tomorrow but I wasn't having thatHave exactly the same discussion with him as I have had about ten times todaybye bye Three - hello iPhonearguing and arguing for what must be around three hoursI got what I wanted without having used Three-Like-Home before and without having that text
So to summarise you want an iPhone (you have at no point said you are unhappy with 3's service that I can see). You are not entitled to disocnnection, you never used the service, you make no mention of planning to use it, you don't get a message stating that you may cancel, you waste peoples time for three hours to the extent that they give you what you want so that you just p**s off and THEN claim that you are not a troublemaker thinking that it would be "ludicrously bizarre" to think that you are. What planet are you on?0 -
I'm waiting for a call back. I tried cancelling on numerous occasions (per second blilling, itemised billing, 0800 calls, crap recerption) with no luck.
Hopefully on this occasion I win.0
