Oh i gave in, today's diet has gone right out the window, had crisps and toast with lurpak! Got one of those premental headaches too which is one of the ones that makes you feel sick (or maybe that's the crisps and lurpak
) and i just feel bl00dy awful, all will be back to normal by tomorrow though, apart from the headache, that will be there for the next few days. I shouldn't moan, I know most women get really bad at their TOTM, so perhaps i should be grateful that all i get is a headache and a few munchies.

I don't have a scientific explanation about TOTM no but I know I used to be able to eat the house and all it's contents:rotfl:now I don't, when they were at their worst the cravings I used to ignore them, it takes some feat it really does but I refused to give in (I guess like the cravings for cigs or another drink or a bit of choc etc) and did a massive house clean or went walking or lied down on the bed whatever I refused to give in and now many months later the cravings are not there well at least not so strong nowhere near and I feel I battled the alien and won:D I always tried to justify the extra cals that the giving in would take from the rest of the week and talk myself into it was not worth it and that the rest of the week would be more suffering with less cals to compensate and I just would not do it0

during ovulation, there is a surge of estrogen levels in our bodies, which causes the food cravings.
what type of foods you are craving depends on which vitamins, or minerals you are low on before starting your period.
if you crave sugary stuff-it's due to your glycemic index (amount of sugar in your blood) being too low for your body to support having your period. so by you eating the sugar-you raise the glucose level in your body up to a sufficient level
Taken from the net, keep the vitamins up sary;)0 -
hadto put the heating on - it's chilly tonight! hope you're all good. got some sw chips in the oven yummy.0

On WW you are only allowed 10 chips or the equivalent of 2 points which seems excessive points for what you get so don't bother with them I may have one off the kids plate if they have what we now call in this house ' a real chip':rotfl: and that is me full:rotfl: enjoy your SW chips:D0

Thanks Victory. I did a search and found a few answers to it as well, much along those lines. It seems our bodies are craving seratonin (the feel-good factor) and magnesium high foods particularly, which just so happens to be found in abundance in chocolate. I'm hoping if I try to stay dilligent with vitamin/oil supplements, that it may just keep the cravings at bay in the future. Here's what I found:
There are two schools of thought on why women crave chocolate at certain times of the month. Behavioral scientists believe that food cravings are the product of psychological processes and are basically a learned behavior.
Biochemists, on the other hand, believe that some food cravings are caused by an imbalance in hormonal and chemical substances in the brain and nervous system, with particular emphasis on serotonin.
In particular with chocolate, acute monthly cravings among pre-menstrual women may be partly explained by its rich magnesium content. Magnesium deficiency exacerbates PMT. Also, before menstruation, levels of the hormone progesterone are high. Progesterone promotes fat storage, preventing its use as fuel; elevated pre-menstrual levels of progesterone may cause a periodic craving for fatty foods.
As it is, today just seems to have been carb laden, so I'll have to do more damage limitation over the next 5 days till WI.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

OMG I cannot escape the topic of TOTM! I wish mine would blimming well appear now as I would like to start before holiday, have even resorted to googling ideas to make it appear. BTW thats hot bath, exercise, stomach massage and raw parsley if you're interested. All wives tales of course but anythings worth a shot! Now not sure if stomach ache is tell tale cramps or the result of those earlier sit ups?!lol.
Well lunch soooooo didnt go to plan! Told OH in the car that I would do lunch as soon as we got home as I was hungry so when he stopped in at tesco express he bought the most gorgeous cheese and tomato foccacia. He was trying to be nice and it was divine but def not healthy! Have been very busy today tho so am hopeful it didnt do too much damage.

Interesting info about TOTM, thanks guys.
Instead of getting your magnesium fix from chocolate, these foods are good sources:
brazil nuts, almonds, cashew nuts, peanuts, wholemeal bread, soy beans, brown rice, raisins, bananas, peas, shrimps.
I know nuts may make some people recoil in horror; they are healthy fats though and may also satisfy the craving for fatty foods too.
Thanks for making me look that up, I'm going to try it for myself when the time comes tooThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Some of those foods sound quite interesting bails, for example planning a meal with shrimps for example meaning you wouldnt be eating any extra calories. Think I would still want chocolate tho!
Have the horrible job of cleaning the kitchen windows today as they are all yucky. I hate it tho cuz the contortionist/balance positions hurt my back and the job is just naff anyway. Fish tank (biggggg one) is all sparkly today though and my packing is done bar a few buts on the washing line so I'm definitely getting there. Still have OH's stuff to do tho! Have a haircut this afternoon which is always nice, so will make up for horrible cleaning jobs!
Have decided today will be a good food day!0
