My "diet" has gone out the window today...and I've had to take codiene because I fell down the stairs...again...this time the big steep flight. Initially I couldnt get an appointment to see the doctor, but then he phoned me to tell me that he had just put my DLA report back in the post:D (how sweet is that? ) I was crying when I picked up the phone...he asked what was wrong and I told him-he asked me to come and see him tomorrow morning so he can do a stretch test and my blood pressure. Also he asked if the councelor had contacted me and when I said no he was pretty upset and said he suspects I'll have to go and see him a few times in the interim. Im expecting to get some very dirty looks from the receptionists tomorrow (he also said he could not understand why I came in when I had the miscarriage) I told him that they said I had to see a doctor to get a letter for early pregnancy unit-he did not sound happy at all.
Anyway, I am now sat on the sofa whilst DF again takes care of me.I've been on the DFW board again and also benefits advice. Someone mentioned earlier that I should get in touch with my local welfare rights office. I never knew about them so I googled and phoned. The woman said I probably wouldnt get anything because I needed to pass a habitual residency test? Im trying to establish why as a British citizen this would be necessary? But I can only find that term with reference to EU citizens. By the way, when did the term "welfare" change to mean "how much money you have"? It doesnt make sense to me at all.0 -
POLKADOT - Its brilliant that your doctor called you personally, and ignore the secretarys dirty looks (if they are stupid enough to behave like that) it will do them good to be occassionally put back in their place.
I was going to do baked trout and roasted veg tonight, but have had far too much fish the last few days and am sick of it, so will do that tomorrow instead. Think I will order a kebab for OH, and have a bit of his chicken and cous cous for dinner. YUM!0 -
I've had a very stressful day with DD's lack of eating. I'm trying to get her to eat normally so haven't been giving her what she wants - Croissants, chicken nuggets, toast etc. I'm tired of the whole fussyness, it's went on for far too long. But she hasn't eaten in 2 days now, I'm worried she will collapse or something!!
Not sure if I should be offering her things similar to what she WILL eat rather than jumping in at the deep end, I gave her cheese & toast for lunch and Chicken pie and boiled potatoes for dinner, which she didn't eat. Starts crying and screaming about how it's YUKKY GUSTING....ok but your bogeys arent?
She will eventually give in and eat right? Someone reassure me!0 -
Buttonmoons, I've never heard of a child starving themselves to death - so my guess would be that she will get over it. Good luck.

I can't believe it. She came back from the park with OH and said she wanted food, I said you can have chicken pie or scrambled egg, she said she wanted egg. She is eating it! First time she has eaten that in over a year. Hoorah! She won't die of malnutrition now!0

Congrats everyone how lost or STS this week :T.
Although this week is a 1.10 pounds gain, I am not too unhappy about that since I did do a 7.35 mile walk last week and at least I am no heavier than when I started my weight loss challenge.vixarooni: not sure if there is a way of getting an iron mark off a carpet. When one of my friends did exactly the same thing, nothing she tried seemed to work, (well other than putting something over the mark to hid it).
mazza111: :T now that is a really good achievement!
polkadot: So sorry to hear you fell down the stairs. Yes, I agree with you about why does welfare have to equal how much money you have. Also why does it have to be what strict black and white criterias even if the situation most people find themselves in is the grey areas. Hopefully you will be able to find something which will help you soon.
Raph: Huggles at all your stress and strains with trying to sort out the marthon. Fingers crossed you will get a place for next year.
Hope everyone has a lovely week.0 -
Oh big hugs to you Victory. I would be like your OH and forget, I'm afraid, becasue I'm dreadful at dates .... but it wouldn't indicate lack of caring, just lack of memory. I'm sure it's the same with him.
Button - isn't it great whn you've stuck at somethingand it works? I hope she just carries on eating properly now but I'd guess you'll have a few more struggles. At least now you know you can stick to your guns.
Polka - what a horridtime you're having. Big hugs to you.
How's the carpet, Vix?
0.75 lbs off please Raph.
I'm not changing my signature just yet, although this makes a total of 40lbs off, because I'm out for lunch for two days then away for the weekend - hotel breakfasts and dinners --- so I guess it'll be a gain next week. But hey - toady I'm :j:j:j:j:j:j0
