Thanks guys, he's doing fine, and seems quite upbeat. Fortunately my boys seem to be very resillient, and just bounce back from most things. I took pics of him in the bed in A&E and of his grazed ankle/foot, and dubbed it the 'foot of dooooom!', so we found a reason to laugh about it. The fact the lady just parked her Micra on his leg is laughable, and recounting the story, as my lad has done, it does sound funny. He had a mate pop round to see him, which was nice, and my friend popped by while I was out with icecream and a music magazine for him, which was lovely of her.
Vix - maybe you need to find out from Matt how much that TV means to him, before you book a holiday? How long has he been saving for, and how much would a holiday cost you both? Is there any other way you can lift your spirits without a holiday, either by short breaks away - have you seen Travelodge are doing their £9 autumn sale at the mo? I've stayed in them with the kids for £9 a night and had a brilliant time. Is there a compromise to be had perhaps where you both get what you want?
BB - today only Cadbury's giant buttons were going to do us any good, so that's what the BF and I had. Chocolate is a cure all, and if that's what you need, then that's what you should have. Anyway, those freddo things are teensy, so 3 of those isn't even close to a Mars bar, so have them guilt free. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Sary - What a fright you must of got! And your lad! Glad he is okay and it wasn't TOO serious! I got reversed on when I was about 12, was crossing a driveway on my AWESOME chopper (vintage) bicycle, and I cycled behind her as she was pulling out, she reversed over me, said ARE YOU OK? Then drove off! I split my head right open where I had landed on the kerb so had to stay overnight in A & E, they never found her either!
Women drivers....Hehe.
I am feeling less tired thankfully!
OH has been told they might be laying people off at work, I really hope they don't and if they do, it isn't him!
It's funny, lately I've noticed I have "loose skin" even though I moisturise twice a day, my stomach doesn't bother me so much, it's my boobs! Looks like chicken skin bunched up in my bra and it's really getting me down, I feel hideous! OH says it's not too bad and maybe the skin will "ping" back. I hear it can take a few month? I think chest exercises are about to be started though. The best thing about being fat was that I had great boobs and now they are !!!!!!!0 -
SARY - Im so sorry to hear about your sons accident, and I cannot believe the woman left to go to work, appaling! I cant imagine anyone leaving someone who they had hurt, let alone a young person/teenager without knowing they are 100% ok.
Whole trout stuffed with a little garlic and diced pepper served with roasted new potatoes and peppers was absolutely gorgeous, and thorougly enjoyed for dinner.
BB - I will try to get a bit of uni work done on the train tomorrowand when I come back, but other than that this weekend is work free!
Right off to catch up on a bit of tv then bed. Will probably post again before I go tomorrow but if not have a good weekend all.0 -
dmv- Its our 10th wedding anniversary and we are going to Hawaii as we did on our honeymoon and I would like to wear my wedding dress. Sounds odd I know but the dress was red and gold. So its more about size than weigh. The weigh is easier to monitor.
Sary- What a terrible shock. Good to hear that he is doing OK.

Goodness you lot have done some gabbing haven’t you? It must be me as when I’m about and feeling like a chat there’s no one here.:rotfl:
I am feeling better...but not great...diet is still potty. DF made spicy chicken and cous cous tonight-and it was too spicy for me to eat! And the 1st of April baby came to visit after clinic so no lunch either. I did cuddle him for hours and he was just too cute. DF came home from work whilst they were here and although he was too scared to hold him, he did have a chat to him and hold his hand.
Funny that it also co incided with 18 DPO for me (was it Sary that remembered that-thats so amazing, thank you) and CD2 (so no-I am not pregnant..but I have a shiny new chart)
Had breakfast and am now eating a bag of microwave popcorn. Normally if I were to snack on popcorn (and it would NOT be at “close to midnight”, I would make it with the air popper. But mum downstairs brought me a bag this afternoon and as its “close to midnight”, I figured it a quieter option than the air popper.
I don’t think I mentioned before, our pastor (who is from Zimbabwe) had to go back there last week as his mother passed away. We got word today that he will be staying longer than expected as his his brothers son (3 years old odd) passed away over the weekend. I am so grateful that my family has managed to leave the country-but please keep these people in your thoughts.
Also, Ive changed my website address on my profile. I spent today “concentrating on my business” so that I had something else to focus on. I discovered Moonfruit so decided to take the plunge and attempt to create a website for Col’s Cakes. Would you all mind having a look and telling me what you think please? I’ve started with the basics as I’ve chosen to use a trial package and don’t want to clutter it too much whilst I learn how it works, but I’d like to know if I’ve created the right impression.
DMV Enjoy your break-you deserve it...just don’t forget to have your block of cheese before you drink.
Sary I’ll bet your DS is loving the attention-and that if there was CCTV about it’ll have spotted the silly moo on her mobile! Ah, I love it, just looked at your FB page...”Hiya Im the one who got hit, but I’m okay and thanks for your concern” If it was mine Id have told him to geroff my wall and let me wallow abit too. So when are you putting the pics up?
Oh golly, now I'm wide awake! Onto the wii for a bit then.0 -
morning all! went to see wolverine last night - quite good and i'm a geeky fangirl. Amazing opening credits, lots of good use of characters and a nice sequence of hugh jackman running around in the buff. so happy kpc this morning!0

Thank you Raph --- SOTW!!! :j:j --- Thank you BB for lilacking me.
Great stuff Sary, Buttons and Seren. Gosh Seren, it doesn't seem that long ago we were both moaning about not being able to stay on track!
Having said that, I''ve just eaten a Freddy Frog and am about to eat at least one more, if not two. I'm just a bit fed up generally (and no, it's not hormonal :rotfl::rotfl:) and sometimes it just HAS to be chocolate.. ...:o
Cheers Granny....am gobsmacked i managed it
(and I agree sometimes it ahs to be chocolate and freddo's are the way forward...)0 -

No, :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: that was me with the frog chocolate. BB would have just had a raw turnip or two.
3 frogs are 315 cals so quite a significant dent in my day. But they were worth it.0
