BM, I am very relieved for you. I hope you can relax now - it very probably was an infection then. I have to have quite a lot o blood tests on a regular basis and a raised white cell count is inaviable a sign of inection for me.Yes - go & get some food down you.

kpc - I'll be geting back to proper sw eating again this weekend - I need to do a monthly shop so I have all the right food in and get back to posting my menus each day. I'm just going through a phase of 'can't be bothered to make the effort to put that extra bit of planning in' and it doesn't pay in the end.
Infact - should be at Asd@ now and quite frankly would rather 'insert suitable analogy here suggesting severe aversion to going.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Raphael - How far is a half marathon? My OH is running a 10k at the end of the month, but he has to wear those bandages around his ankles and knee because I think he did too much, so now it gets a bit swollen. He can do 4 1.2 miles in 40minutes? Something like that, so he's hoping to do it under an hour!

Thanks Brighton Belle, I feel relieved it was nothing drastic, it just seemed very suspect how no-one would tell me what was happening! I've got to get more blood tests done in May, but I'm just glad it's nothing serious.

It's 13.1 miles (the .1 is important :p) at the moment I'm running about 8.30 - 9.00 minute miles, I'm hoping to do it just under 2 hours, but we'll see :D

victory: i am watching bits of it. I just don't know if i like the idea of the show... making people loose weight really quickly in order to stay on the programme. Doesnt seem a healthy way to do it to me, and then theres the fact the people who get booted off could really do with the help as theyre all obese and some megarly.

Scary: UK holidays don't really cut the mustard for me. I like having a new atmosphere, weather, people, language ect. Plus after finishing my education i feel i deserve a trip abroad! all 17 years of it. Jeez. Although i do like UK holidays, theyre just not as good, lack of wow factor.

Had lovely weather here today!! im pooped because weve got to go to matts parents to dog sit for a few days...but after just moving a load of stuff ive got to gather up more to take to matts. Argh!

see ya folks, im off to cook my ready meal (bad i know but just couldnt be bothered) and then to pick up matt before i have to work tomorrow. Boooooo!

have a lovelly bank holiday weekend everyone xx

Hello everyone - it's the weekend!! yay!

Raph - well done getting your number!

Buttons - I'm glad you got to speak to the drs again, as it would have done my head in not knowing what was going on.

    BB
    - I believe the south of the country is forecast to have good, dry weather, although having been nice here all day, it has been raining this evening, which I don't recall being forecast. Typical, just when I've stripped the bed linen to wash! I hope you get the nice weather, and enjoy your trip out Monday, if you go. BTW, I'm with you on any reason not to go shopping - I only managed to go yesterday because everyone kept complaining there was nothing in the freezer to eat! It's full now, and I don't expect to go again for about 3 weeks, it will be just small trips to get milk, bread, salad inbetween now.

I've been super busy again. Spent the morning cleaning & tidying up here, unpacking some boxes, and moving some furniture in/around, putting up curtains, etc. I was so busy that at almost midday I realised my 2 sisters were about to arrive and I'd not thought what to do them for lunch! Clearly no cake got made. I shot over to the supermarket, which is spitting distance from where we live, and quickly got some salad, chicken, quiche, etc. I did a warm chicken salad, the quiche, and a quick pasta with a stir in tomato/mascapone sauce. My sisters were really impressed with the 'effort' I'd gone to (little did they know), and I had a lemon curd cheesecake for them for dessert. I ate some of it all, so eating rather off piste, yet again, but it seems too hard to plan when life is so hectic at the moment. I feel shattered this evening, having been on the go since 8am again.

Last push at my house tomorrow. Carpets/underlay up, and the shrubs out of the garden, and that will be it - goodbye house, and good riddance! Then it's going to be the long overhaul here.... I hope I don't bore you all stupid with that saga as well!

Victory - shame the Wii has to go, as you've certainly had good use out of it. I don't use mine at the mo, but the children use it all the time, especially the online function, watching the BBC iplayer. We're making cutbacks here too; BF is changing over to PAYG on his phone, I'll do the same with mine in 2 months after my initial 9 months is up, he's also considering stopping going to the gym, and has dug out his old home gym & weights, we may even cancel the Sky TV too. I do my best to budget foodwise, but it takes a big chunk out of our monthly budget to feed 6 of us, hence I went to Farmfoods yesterday to stock up, as it really does save me £'s. We don't drink or smoke, and rarely go out, so thankfully we're a couple with minimal needs. We're happy enough to go for a walk together if it's a nice day. I don't give the children pocket money, and do find it harder to keep replacing their clothes, so they end up as part of Xmas/birthday gifts more often than not. It's only what our parents and grandparents had to do in the past, so why not us too? I remember our TV going back to the rentals people when I was a kid when money was tight, and my friend in the same street had a TV that took 50p coins to pay it's rental. We had an electric & gas meter where we had to put 10p's into it too. That's just how it was back then.

Here's hoping you all get to enjoy the bank holiday, and that the sun shines on everyone.:D
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing fine and looking forward to a great weekend! :D

Raph - I'm really impressed you're aiming for sub 2-hours in the half!!! That is ultra speedy in my book! Good luck with that, and in the marathon ballot too - fingers crossed!

BB - Asda on a Friday... rather you than me :p How did you get on?

Vixstar, I have those Philips ear hook earphones and thought they would be the answer to everything. They weren't! I have smallish ears and they seem to be made for bigger ears - they just kept falling off. I'm currently using lightweight headphones which are OK. Might have to try the ones Raph has though - they look ace (deffo not the pink version though! :rotfl:)

Andyslinz, my advice if you're not feeling well is to wait until you are on the mend before (slowly) resuming exercise. You are diverting your body's energy away from the healing process otherwise :)

I've eaten more than usual again this week - no particular reason other than a lot of the treat-type stuff in the house is getting close to best before dates! (Some was brought back from my holiday last August!) Finally decided to tuck in :rotfl: Will deal with the consequences from next week onwards :p

Aiming being the operative word!! And that's only cos C once did the great north run (a half marathon) and did it in just over 2 hours :D
I reckon I'll keep up to speed in the first half, but when I get tired I'm going to slow. We'll see!
