Victory - can't remember if I said it before or only thought it, but you referred to it being childish to need to go back on the chart last week: I don't think it is childish at all - all credit to you for giving it a try, feeling a bit flakey about it, but making yourself wait til the end of the month before deciding you needed to go back on it: I think that is far removed from childish, trying something new and not reverting the second you feel anxious or whatever. If being on the chart helps, then that's more than ok isn't it.
Very sorry you are having to give up the wii, but well done for knowing you have to make ends meet. I know you will always go without to make sure your kids are clothes/fed/happy. Things are tight for us too.

Thank you very much that nearly made me cry so touching thank you, thanks sary also sometimes money is too tight to mention but there is always the lottery:rotfl:

Fabulous day here today so we have been in the garden all day and now preparing dinner soon, the kids have had a fab day, all good:D

This has to be the worst TOTM I have ever had. I'm sore, I'm moody (to put it politely) and I have the biggest munchies. We have been invited to a bbq on Monday and I'm really nervous about it...DF has not yet met the boyfriend and I'm not sure he will get on with him. So I'm baking a chocolate cake. Actually I'm calling it a "Mikado" cake, but you can have a look in my gallery later to see why:)

Victory - shame the Wii has to go, as you've certainly had good use out of it. I don't use mine at the mo, but the children use it all the time, especially the online function, watching the BBC iplayer. We're making cutbacks here too; BF is changing over to PAYG on his phone, I'll do the same with mine in 2 months after my initial 9 months is up, he's also considering stopping going to the gym, and has dug out his old home gym & weights, we may even cancel the Sky TV too. I do my best to budget foodwise, but it takes a big chunk out of our monthly budget to feed 6 of us, hence I went to Farmfoods yesterday to stock up, as it really does save me £'s. We don't drink or smoke, and rarely go out, so thankfully we're a couple with minimal needs. We're happy enough to go for a walk together if it's a nice day. I don't give the children pocket money, and do find it harder to keep replacing their clothes, so they end up as part of Xmas/birthday gifts more often than not. It's only what our parents and grandparents had to do in the past, so why not us too?
    [/QUOTE]

I buy most of my clothes and the boys (well not so much the teenagers now) from the boot fairs or the charity shops, they walk around with next, all sorts of designer labels,I have French Connection, Next, Monsoon, Jane Norman all the top names for £1 a top or £2 a dress, Levi jeans my OH has and my eldest all £1 from the boot fair, we get there very early as they unload and take the coins and whatever we see we buy, another great tip is buy out of season in the shops with the 70% off there is winter clothes in spring and bikinis in autumn, I buy coats in July and beach stuff in January, I have always bought ahead for the boys and the little one has clothes upstairs for age 10 that one day he will fit:D woolies closing down was a gift to me he has loads of pyjamas etc for xmas, for the future.
Food wise I always buy the BOGOF never pay full price for anything when I know it will be half next week or on a deal, I go to Makro and buy the big washing powder and the large fabric softeners, saves loads, I put away loads for the future, can't tell you how many birthday/wedding/christening/congratulations cards I have when a local birthday card shop closed down and was practically giving them away, they will come in handy one day:rotfl::rotfl:I am a great Asda scourer around 7pm for turkey slices for 10p, meats for silly money, yogs, fish, all go into the freezer for the future.
My sis cancelled Sky, went to PAYG also like you, I smoke, don't drink, we never go out for dinners unless it is a deal at the harvester, 1/2 price ,BOGOF etc, I am a great believer in never having to pay full price for anything, my longest wait for something I wanted ,a duvet set in Debenhams was nearly 18 months!!!,they knew me by name in the end:rotfl::rotfl:all good things come to those who wait, I go shopping in my mind remember where it is and wait:D it was worth it because that duvet cover lasted a good few years, funnily enough I am actually doing the same thing right now, have my eye on another duvet set that is not yet in the sale:rolleyes: need a life me:rotfl::rotfl:

Had a lovely day out in the sun, it feels like I wasted so many of the sunny weekends staying in my house trying to do bits of diy and tidying so it was good to get out. Going to delay my weigh in till Monday as by the time I get near the scales tomorrow I'll have hopefully had my breakfast. Am also going to try a new running route round my village as I haven't done any exercise all week.
Victory don't suppose you know the number of WW points in a tin of chickpeas? Not going to be able to check my book before I go shopping.

Hi all - hope everyone's doing well.

Have had a lovely day chilling out totally with a lovely lunch out, and a walk through the woods to the beach and spent a couple of hours walking along the beach in the sun.

Am planning to do wall paper stripping tomorrow

So, how long does it take to dig up 5 laurel bushes? Ages! And how do you do it?? With great difficulty, that's how! So, the final push, was slightly more knackering than I'd envisaged, but it's all done now. I don't have to go back to the house again. Meter readings taken, finished! phew! I was beggared if I was going to leave all my shrubs and bulbs in that garden mind you, so we took a spade & fork and dug the lot up, including a corkscrew willow I planted last year, hostas, hebe, etc. Then I had my BF digging out 6 holes in his front garden to plant the laurels - he's never gardened in his life, bless him - and voila, instant hedge! Tomorrow I have about another 20 plants/shrubs to put in, and will tie up the bunches of daffodils/tulip bulbs for planting in the autumn. Oooh, get me, I sound like Alan Titchmarsh (I do like him, would love to have a cream tea with Alan, truth be told - and yes, he is way to old for me, but I think he'd be good for a natter & I like his voice).

So, I reckon I've saved us shed loads of cash for the garden, and it will be like Groundforce have been in after this weekend. The downside is it is physically knackering, and I ache all over now.

We took a van load of rubbish to the dump, but as the BF was loading 2 old concrete washing line posts into the van, he caught between his 3rd & little finger with a metal rod, and it absolutely kills him, and did it bleed or what! He really could have done with a stitch, or superglueing the wound closed, but he'd not hear of it, so I've had to do a micropore tape & bandage job on it, but it's got more painful as the night has gone on. Thankfully I'm a trained first aider, and I spotted that he looked rather faint after he'd had his hand under the cold tap. He just squatted down, and didn't understand why I was trying to ram his head onto the kitchen floor! ha ha Once I'd got him to do that, he did feel better, and then I could explain the reason why, and he had a bit of colour back in his cheeks too - I was relieved coz he's a bit of a big boy to catch tbh! :)

So, after all that, I still managed to make dinner, and have had a nice shower to freshen up.

    Food today:
    B - porridge
    L - bacon roll
D - burger with salad (I forgot about the omlette plan)

Victory - we do a lot of the same things you and I, and I also have a drawer full of cards bought in the Woolies sale!

Polka - if you're having a bad time with TOTM, then just be kind to yourself. Allow yourself what you're craving, but try to keep the treats measured, so you won't have to beat yourself up about it too much after TOTM. I know what it can be like sometimes, and hey, you'll have the rest of the month to make amends.

fredsnail - your day sounded lovely. Not so sure about tomorrow mind you!

BB - I was 36 when I met my BF and do feel so grateful to have him in my life. When he was digging those holes in the garden tonight, it was about 8pm, his hand was really aching, and he really doesn't enjoy gardening, and I thought; he's doing this because he loves me, and he's not complaining, and he's worked so hard for so many days helping me, and I'm really lucky to have him. I also told him he'd dug the best hole in the world, and it was a really lovely one! I'm such a silly old sod sometimes. It's fabulous that you are able to share your life with such a lovely OH, and I don't think there is anything wrong with just enjoying having time together. OH says I'm not just his GF, but I'm his best friend, and if he had to choose anyone to spend time with in or out, it would be me - hey, I'm just fab I am! lol

Wasn't it a lovely day today? I did wonder with those clouds first thing, but it was so nice in the sunshine. I should be outside all afternoon tomorrow, but first thing I have 3 baskets of ironing to tackle - eeeek! I can't imagine how that's stacked up, you'd think I've been busy.

Afternoon all, sunny but windy here. Just spent all morning freezing my butt off doing a bootsale, made a £11.25 profit (C made £1.50 :p) so wasn't all bad.
We managed to sneak away before the steward came round for the entry fee so didn't have to pay :D

Had an Indian takeaway last night, my treat for C, very delish. Carrot sticks and hummus for lunch methinks (roast chicken later! :))

Well done Raph with the carboot. I did 2 last year and barely broke even after paying my pitch. I got a bit disillusioned with it, as it was mainly other carbooters trying to buy your stuff for a pittance and practically give it away, before the event even started. I'd prefer to give my stuff to charity than them! I know some people make a good bit of cash from it, but round where I live, it seems that's not the case.

I'm going out for an Indian meal next Friday with the girls. We don't get together that often, so will try to bootcamp in the run up to it. I do like the tikka there.

This morning I ironed for 4hrs. I can't think of much I like less than ironing, but there was 2 weeks worth to do. More washing on the line/in the machine, so it's not over yet!

Slept like a log last night, but golly are my arms, hands and shoulders aching today! We did work hard yesterday, but I didn't think it was more than usual. I've had an hour to sit and chill, and after my cuppa am off back into the garden to crack on out there. The sun is shining, so I'm going to make the most of it.

    Later y'all.
