I’ve been a bad girl this week for food (especially over the week end) but I’ve been good on the flylady front...I’m finally able to see my desk. I’ve not bothered to get on the scale yesterday-I know it’ll just set me back. I baked a Mikado cake on Saturday and I couldn’t tell you how much of it I’ve eaten. Also, DF cooked Gammon and jacket pots yesterday (alright, I DID cut the fatty rind off of it) and we had toad in the hole today that DF put red wine in the gravy. I’ve not had any vitality breakfast and I’ve not had any slimfast-and I’ve not been on the wii since Thursday.
I am feeling rather punished though and am having the opposite problem to you Vix. I suppose it’s been a necessary evil though and has reminded me why I wanted to do this in the first place-and also reminded me why binging is worse than the alternative too.
Despite all this, Ive had a good weekend, relaxed, slept, spent some time working on my website, spent time catching up with the ladies on the guild and even planted my onions.
DMV Good to hear you had such a good time-sometimes that break from our routine is all we need to get back to normal again.
Sary You have done so much this week end...you must be really happy that at least now you can focus your energy on only one home. How are the kids liking it?
Missy I seem to remember you used a website to get an idea of your calorie burn-was it you? If so, what site was it? I was just looking at your calories for step and it looks more than I’ve been calling it-by lots. I know it depends on the intensity too, but I’ve been merely calling steps “aerobics” on foodfocus and it doesn’t really let you vary intensity.
Kat I’ll kick yours if you kick mine. I’ve been in a rut for a few weeks now. I’m convinced it’s because my house is a tip (flylady left the building, I couldn’t get around the mess, routine disappeared, the mess got worse, I’m demotivated) which is why I took time out today to do some proper flying.

Well done on all the results this week end.

pah! tried again today, did all the things suggested, it lets me enter my card details okay, and then tells me 'there was a problem with the page you were trying to view'. grrrrrrr. still, i think yesterday was okay . .

    red day
bacon, scrambled egg and mushrooms(all either grilled o frylighted)ALL FREE + ketchup (1 syn)
wt ham, cucumber, and 42g cathedral city light cheese on 2 slices warbies 400g wholemeal(Free, HEA, HEB)
broccoli and rump steak, marinated in garlic, thyme and 1 tablespoon rapeseed oil(free, free, free, free, standing in for ev olive as HEB), glass red wine(8 syns)

so yesterday was a good day. because i still can't get on tot he site to check syn values todays food may be a bit patchy . . .

    green
    weetabix and milk(HEA and HEB)
    mugshots, apple(free, free)
    beans on toast(free, HEB)

will have to try and find a phone number today and give them what for. Katatarina, don't be too hard on yourself, i often find that i crash off the wagon with things that i 'can't' have. you just have to remember that with sw you can have whatever you wat, but you've got to plan it. I went wrong on sw last time by getting into habits where i'd decide i wanted something and that i could work out a way around later - which i never got around to. sometime you want to be spotaneous i know but plan plan plan and it will work.

I know it depends on the intensity too, but I’ve been merely calling steps “aerobics” on foodfocus and it doesn’t really let you vary intensity.

I did start by getting an idea from the suggestions on fitness websites, but now I have my own formula for calorie burn based on average heart rate (effort) for each session.

I've calibrated my calorie burn numbers against my body fat results, it's taken a lot of tweaking but I'm pretty sure the numbers are now adding up for me (as in, I can eat back those calories on top of my normal maintain allowance, without gaining body fat). I didn't want the calorie burn to be just a theoretical number - I wanted it to properly represent the additional amount I can eat in a week thanks to my exercise.

With the step I've done two different things in the past two weeks:

    1. Using the wii balance board (without the wii switched on), this is a low step but I increased the intensity by taking long strides to and from the step and I did them very fast, almost jogging/jumping. This came in at 61% effort and 156 cals for 30 minutes.

    2. Using a footstool which is probably 2 or 3 times higher than a standard step (not recommended unless you're quite sure footed!) This was done much slower and came in at 58% effort and 147 cals for 30 minutes.

My numbers aren't excessive, when you think about it I did getting on for 10 hours of exercise last week and it didn't even add up to the equivalent of 1lb of fat (3,500 calories). If you're getting much lower numbers, this seems stingy to me!

yay! i managed to join bodyoptimise! their website had turned it's little toes up over the weekend. I still got hte offer and they pomised to honour the magazine code too. So I can have a proper lunch. Bit gutted to find how 'bad' burgamix is though. I'd developed quite the taste for it.
