Hermes have brought legal eagles in to halt the Newsnight exposure Wed Dec 1st of poor courier treatment.
It has been re scheduled for Fri Dec 3rd.0 -

Only used myhermes about six times and on the last occasion they lost my parcel. Will not use again not solely because they lost my parcel but their lack of professionalism and efficiency. One thing they do well is answer the phone quickly but that's it, everything else is sh#t.
I apologise for the rant but I have never been so angry about a lack of service..... OK had a parcel collected (a golf club sold on ebay) at beginning of November to be delivered within 3-5 working days (sometimes longer fair enough). Parcel status is not updated on website after 7 working days so contact customer service on three separate occasions on three consecutive days. They ask me for shipment number on each occasion (no security questions to confirm my identity). They confirm it is "at the depot" and that they need to contact them. I am promised a phone call back on each of the occasions, which I do not receive at all. The first response I get really wound me up, I quote: "hummm, hummmm, hummm, that's strange it seems to be at the depot". Ok, so seemingly not getting anywhere using their 5star customer service staff, I try the email approach. Eventually get it confirmed on the 21st November that "after extensive investigations the parcel cannot be located". So I am emailed a claim form which I complete also including supporting information. I am promised that my claim will be processed and completed within 5working days (usually 28days I know, but due to the shockingly poor service I think they wanted to make an effort). After five working days pass, I email them, no response. So I thought I would give the customer service A-Team a go again........ Surely they can't be as bad right.... Not possible is it..... Wrong. Ok, I speak to a man called Mohammed. I tell him I want a update on my claim. He asks for a shipment number (does not ask for my name or address or anything else, he clearly doesn't care). He tells me it will be done in 28days. No I say it was promised 5days I have the email to prove it. He lets me wait for 5 minutes (so I can waste more money) and maintains there is nothing on the system to prove my claim. What to do now????? My gripe is not necessarily with the lost parcel although that's bad enough its with the terrible customer service, broken promises and complete lack of professionalism. There customer service system doesn't seem to track events such as previous emails, phone calls, faxes, or claims. How can you run customer service like that.....
Please let me know your myhermes bad experiences. There's got to be enough of use out there!0 -

This is the information the hermes website gives me when i try to track my order. I emailed them to ask what 'pre-advise update' meant & they sent a very blunt reply telling me to contact the company i've ordered from.
This seems strange as i'm enquring about a term they use on their tracking system!
Can anyone tell me what 'pre-advise' update means!!0 -
My sister sent me a parcel using myhermes.co.uk, unfortunately I wasn't in when the courier tried to deliver it but they'd left a card through my door with their number on it. I phoned and asked if they were still in my area, that I was home. They weren't so I asked when they would be which was the next day, we arranged a time convenient to both of us and the item was delivered. Have yet to use them to send anything over to family. The
Some of the posts on here do concern me but I think that it could be the old few bad couriers getting the whole lot tarred with the same brush. My sister has been using myhermes for a while now as they're cheaper than RM.
I didn't know that Next used them, everything I've ordered has been delivered in the time stated. I've had things delivered in the evening and on one occasion the delivery person did say that they'd tried to deliver earlier when I was out.0 -

Preadvice means it's been loaded onto the courier's hand held terminal for collection.0 -
This thread is quite interesting. I have never had a delivery from Hermes before, but both Joe Browns and Lakeland use them, and I placed an order with both of those sites at the end of November. Both parcels were despatched on 2nd December and I am yet to receive them.
I realise the bad weather may have caused some delays, but I'm struggling to get any sort of information from the website and would like an estimated date of delivery, or the option to collect the parcels from the courier. This is what one of the parcels says:
05/12/2010 20:38 Courier Received
04/12/2010 05:48 Out For Delivery
03/12/2010 21:43 Processed at Depot
03/12/2010 09:08 Hub Sorter Receipt Scan
02/12/2010 17:04 Order Generated
So I'm guessing this means a local courier has my parcel(s) and is holding onto them until the weather clears (though Royal Mail have been managing fine for the past three days here). It confuses me a little bit. I wish there was a way of contacting the courier as I'd be quite happy to collect the parcels myself, especially if there's a backlog.
Oh well, I guess it's just a waiting game.I hope they arrive before Christmas though or I'll have some last minute present buying to do!
