Problem with Hermes Delivery Services

Hermes held onto my parcel for 4 days. I advised the supplier (I'd bought from Amazon marketplace) that they should change their delivery company. They do indeed employ local self-employed couriers who only seem to deliver when it suits.
Avoid them if you can.0 -
I ordered a couple of items from Debenhams and got an email from them on Saturday to say they had been despatched.
As I was off work today I was hoping the items might arrive so I checked the tracking on the email, much to my surprise they were showing as being delivered today at 14.16 to "the porch". I've searched the porch, the garden and checked with all the neighbours and no sign of the parcel. The delivery company in question is Hermes.
I got straight on the phone to Debenhams who said they would do an investigation and get back to me within 48 but sods law, I really wanted the items for Thursday. I am donating the items to a charity coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Care, they are Radley Travelcard Holders which I thought might tempt the ladies to make a nice donation.
So, I await an update from Debenhams but not holding my breath that anything will be sorted for Thursday
(We did have the lady who delivers my Next orders launch the bags through the downstairs window after trampling through the garden. The window was slightly ajar, she opened it fully and threw the stuff in just missing my boyfriends laptop and nearly giving him a heart attack  )ITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0 -
I am slightly concerned by this as it appears that the new H&M online store use Hermes, and I now have an account with them (monthly installments etc) as getting out to shop on the high street can be tough with my work/life.
What a pity the company has such a bad rep. They have delivered shoes to my work before from Miss Selfridge, so fingers crossed I don't have any problems in future.0 -

Yea, really angry about this.
I've placed an order on h&m a few days ago for about 210.00. I think it's on it's way to the UK..
I phoned up Customer service today and said i really do NOT like hermes, is it possible to change delivery courier.. the response was no, dhl delivers too but only for parcels that can fit through the letterbox..
Urghh i'm hoping there is no bloody problems with my order because i'm not going to take any bull whatsoever.0 -
One of their couriers (I presume one of those part-timers) won't even come down my road because it's not tarmaced!! Hmmmm. . . that doesn't seem to stop UPS, Home Delivery Network, CityLink, DPD, DHL, APC, Parcelforce, Tesco, Ocado, Sainsburys, the Postman, the Milkman, I need not go on!
I do hope all these complaints make companies seriously think again about using them. It ruins their reputations as much as the courier itself.0 -
I am definitely not ordering anything from Topshop online again. Twice Hermes has left my order outside my house in what they consider a 'secure' location and both times Hermes did not leave a note through my letterbox saying if/where they had delivered the item. Not surprising on both occasions my order went missing, and now, on the second order, Topshop say they are not willing to offer me a redlivery/refund as 'the courier delivered to a secure location'.
Hermes are a complete joke.
Why can't Topshop use Royal Mail? At least then they would leave the order with my neighbours or at the local depot.0 -

as i have said before
its all about cost
topshop stipulate the courier and the delivery methods they want
(leaving it 'safe' is cheaper)
now its the time to send topshop a recorded delivery letter stating you require your goods or a refund before going the legal route
what Topshop deem acceptable delivery is moot if you dont get the item0 -
Found a delivery card on the ground outside of my block of flats last week saying a courier had attempted to deliver something to me. No number on the card and I wasn't expecting a delivery so dont know what it was they were delivering.
The card said that it was the second attempt at delivery (no card posted the first time) and that they would try again the next day.
Waited in all day and no delivery. Really annoyed and after this and reading this thread it is definitely a company I will avoid, can't seem to get in touch with them to find out any information.0 -
