Problem with Hermes Delivery Services

  • I too have had problems with Dorothy Perkins using Hermes. Hermes website shows that my parcel went out for delivery on 23rd November but almost one week later and there is no sign of it. When I tried to contact DP on 25th November, they said that it was normal and that it would be delivered in the next couple of days. But still on 29th November, I have no parcel. I am so angry. When I tried to contact Hermes directly, I received an automated email telling me that I had to contact the original company that I placed the order with. I am never buying anything from Dorothy Perkins again due to this mistake and would never use Hermes for any deliveries. In fact I will also steer clear of any companies that use Hermes. Appalling service and customer care from both DP and Hermes!

this is how they cut costs
    along with using owner/drivers
companies like DP use them because of the prices

    cheers :)

i have to go out now but have advised my house mate due to this thread that the delivery driver may be lighter on his feet when knocking than Harry Potter under a levitation charm

called the number from the thread, apparently its for delivery tomorrow- the one day im not in the city at all between 8am and 10pm :D
  • Please take this into consideration when orderring your goods, we have adverse weather conditions all across the country, snow and ice. This can cause delays in transportation from the Main hubs, sub depots and also with the couriers as well.
This not only applies to Hermes but to all other delivery companies too, including Royal Mail. Driving and walking is hazardous and therefore deliveries WILL take longer.
As far as I'm aware, delivery by helicopter isn't available for less than £10, so be patient please.

Hermes turn again, well gives the Royal Mail, DHL etc a break,

It is tough for couriers and customers when companies use Hermes, why because they have no collection depots, poor courier has to go back back and forth 3 times(Hermes are saving costs by no depot and using man power as a substitute).

You can't please everyone, some love the man power theme and hate the inconvenience of a drive to any depot to collect.

Others are inconvenienced by no depot, good grief they are very important people and had no intention of being home any day any hour and expect a depot to collect from.

We aren't given any allowance to return calls to customers unfortunately. I get way more than 45p per parcel but wouldn't dream of using my phone to call customers!

I believe real tracking is only live with H&M.

You will be unable to choose non Hermes deliveries because the companies love the competitive prices offered by them.
The courier (self employed) is carrying the low cost and therefore helping the profits made by these companies using Hermes.

You would be amazed at what couriers have to put up with from customers.
I have loads of problems delivering but no problems receiving an order I've placed.
I wonder if it's because I'm organised, I ordered so I'm responsible to receive, I have some things sent to a family member if I'm away from my order address, one of the family must stay home to receive or I select a safe place for items to be left.

I know it's not always that simple but the customer could help us and themselves a little more.

Newsnight Wed 1st Dec @10.30 exposes Hermes mistreating couriers.
We're self employed so can't strike like RM
It's sod off if you don't like it

Please do watch custardy ex postie and enjoy and feel free to use it against the hard working couriers at Hermes.

Just a quick post as I stumbled accross this thread by accident.

I have used HERMES for collection of a faulty Hoover cleaner. I paid about £7 to send it back to the retailer. They came when they should have and the cost to me was a bargain.

Would use them again without doubt.

Parcelnet didn't seem to have the [poor] reputation that HERMES do - so I wonder why Otto changed the name in the first place!

Well, I booked my first ever collection yesterday and they failed to turn up as arranged. Seems they're as bad at collecting as they are delivering, never again!!!

Believe it or not ~Chameleon~ it seems to be the norm for all companies, try them all and decide.
