I sent the revised email, waiting for a reply... think i might skip the gym today i don't really fancy seeing him till i know he's read it.
    I feel sick :(
This was a very brave thing to do, so well done! :T I would also send him a text to say you have sent an email, which you would like him to read before you meet again - otherwise he might find your absence at the gym a bit strange.
  • I definitely think you need to skip the lunchtime workout and have a chat and a coffee with 'Dave' instead. You must be like a skinny beanpole the amount of working out you do :D

But seriously Taye, you've explained your situation to him - made it crystal clear in fact and if he is still interested then you need to give the guy a break and at least spend some time with him.

I still think you need to skip the workout one lunchtime and find a nice pub instead. That way you are restricted with time and there is no pressure. It will also take away the physical closeness of you two working out together until you've got your head sorted a bit ;)

Come on Taye, you CAN do this xx

Huge well done for sending the email, very brave. Sure you will get a lovely reply soon. And don't panic if it takes a couple of days, he may not be online much.

He's told me to bring the boy's he's got more than enough Toys (x-box, playstations etc) to keep them occupied while we chat and that he's not taking no for an answer.

I think also, that with your boys there as well you will feel more at ease because you can just chat to "Dave" as a friend - there will be no expectations of you other than to eat the meal cooked for you and chat to each other. The boys will take the pressure off things. Enjoy the meal! x

It's not like you are bringing him into the kids' home. At some point they are going to have to learn that people/kids go round to friends houses for tea.

It might all come to nothing, but maybe it will next time if not this - yes dating again may cause problems - but also not getting past the past also will, I feel very sorry for this poster, posting because they are worried about their mother's loneliness:
