    Hi MORPH3US,

Good to hear you got a new line with BT! :) The Monthly Payment Plan takes a set amount from your bank account every month, and it is set to cover service charges and cost of calls. The amount is based on an assessment of what we estimate your statement to be each quarter.

After each quarterly statement is produced your account is reassessed and we will then either increase or decrease your direct debit payments.

Confirmation of any increase in your Monthly Payment Plan will appear on your bill.

Obviously this is a general description of the Monthly Payment Plan, but if you want me to give you more accurate info relating to your account I would need you to send me a PM with your details.

    Cheers,

    Stephanie

Thanks for the reply Stephanie... I appreciate it.

I do think its a bit presumptuous of BT to charge me in advance for calls they *think* I will not even make.

I can tell them now my calls each month will amount to exactly ZERO :D

I only got a phone line for internet.

It will get used for freephone calls, free weekend calls (at least 10 to meet the T&C's) and thats it.

(Appreciate this is not your doing Stephanie so thanks for the answer anyway).

I'm on an orange mobile contract. I assume there should be no problems with taking up the BT offer, as long as I make the requisite calls per month with BT

    thanks again

I have recently transferred my line to the Phone Co-op. My ADSL is through Be Unlimited (LLU). I'm thinking of requesting a new line in the hope that it would give better performance than my existing line. Can I stipulate to BT that I want the line for ADSL (i.e. no DACS), and would there be any problem transferring it to Be (and keeping my existing line for calls only)? It would presumably mean remembering to hook up a phone to the line every so often to make chargeable calls.

Hope you do make a few calls at least MORPH3US (to reach the minimum chargeable calls required to keep the offer)
  • Hi there,

A newbie here. Great forum btw. Just a quick question i am looking to get a bt line and broadband from BT too. On the bt website it says Unlimited Evening & Weekend Calling Plan and BT Total Broadband Option 1 would be £15.65 plus £11.25 line rental. So in other words £26.90 per month. is this definently what i would pay as reading previous posts i came across a Monthly Payment Plan £16.50. Is this billed every month instead of the £15.65 or on top of this? Thanks in advance.

I have just spent an hour on to BT to get this deal - the sales team were really rude and made out that GMTV are not telling the truth:confused:!!! Martin - not good for your rep eh?! In the end I insisted in speaking to the Customer Options Team and they were aware of the deal straight away - having spent 45 mins speaking to the sales team who insisted I was not allowed to have a 2nd line fitted !!!!!! urghhhhhhhhhh DONT waste your time speaking to the sales team - ask for the CUSTOMER OPTIONS TEAM!
    good luck!
Thanks Martin :money: - a massive saving for me! :T
