im interested in going over to BT as i dont have a BT line at all......
i want the broadband £5 deal from sky....can that be done with needeing bt calls??????
I am currently on Virgin Media for Phone and 2 meg broadband (£15.50) soon to be upgraded to 10 meg then on sky for £19.50
Great idea change over to bt sign up to the 18 months@ £11.25 per month,but you cant take full advantage of the Sky Talk and Broadband deal till your 18 months is up.For me it would be £7.50
per month more,so i am staying put.This may not be made clear when you sign up,so i am staying put after another person i spoke to put me in the picture.
My situation is a bit different but be very careful what you are committing to,hope that helps especially if you are with V/M at present.never put off buying a bargain today,it may be gone tomorrow0 -
I rang bt this morning to arrange a landline in my new house before seeing this offer and was told it would be the usual £122.50 for a 12 month contract. I rang them back quoting this offer and she said yes thats fine it will apper on your bill as a debit then a credit all done in about 30 seconds so i guess we will see when the bill comes in!!!0

When I signed up to BT a few months ago, I was told that if I took an 18-month contract then the connection fee was only £29-odd.
Guess saving anything is better than nothing, but it's definitely not saving £130.
Granted I am still waiting for them to install my line, but that's a different story altogether.0 -
I saw this thread just now and rang up instantly, i was transfered to customer service after being told the offer started the day after i rang up......anyway, the customer service lady was helpful and asked if i had a code, i said no, i've just seen it on MSE and she said, well it was intended for people from other providers to get them back, but she went on hold for a bit and came back and said we would be HAPPY TO WAIVE the charge as long as you make 10 CHARGEABLE calls per month.
You either misheard or were talking to yet another poorly trained BT 'agent'. That part of the requirement is to make 10 chargeable or inclusive calls per month (see HERE).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Hello,
This current offer was promoted initially to customers who left BT over 12 months ago, but any customer who specifically requests it (regardless of what service provider they are with) can get it if they are eligible.
If you are already signed up to a contract with a special offer, e.g. cheaper line rental for 12/18 months, you are not eligible. Having said this, if you are in a contract for your line only (and do not have any offers on the account), you can sign up to this offer (if you require a second line or are a home mover) and you will enter a new 18 month contract. This contract is not a renewable one, so you can sign up to a new deal once it is up.
When signing up to this offer, customers need to be aware that:
- They need to make 10 chargeable, or inclusive calls (as part of the call package) calls per month (30 per quarter) with BT;
- The connection charge (£122.50) will appear on their bill with a credit to cancel it out;
- During the contract period, they cannot take any other contracted offers or deals.
I hope this has helped to clarify the offer.
Cheers,
Stephanie

Hi Ruby Gloom
Glad to see youre getting the free connection.Hopefully I can clear up any confusion here. But you are only accepting people onto this deal if the potential customer tells you about it. Such dual pricing is dishonest as it disadvantages large groups of vulnerable people, such as the elderly, who are much less likely to be aware that BT has these secret offers.0 -
Thanks a million got 2nd line free without any hassle after mentioning the BT letter.0

Hi
I took up this deal (or in my case with a £30 connection fee) but I am unsure how I am supposed to check that I am satisfying the 30 calls requirement?
Further, after a month, I switched to anytime unlimited, so how do I make chargwable calls now?
Sorry for being a bit thick!0
