    Hello Stephanie,

I tried to send you a PM but your Inbox is full.

I have tried to get this offer, but was refused as it only applies to new customer according to the BT customer care person (Bernie) and her Manager. According to her I am don't qualify for this offer as I am an existing customer that is only moving house, and will therefore have to pay the 122.50£.

What I have read on this site indicates that it should even be open to existing customers.

Would you be able to clerify this for me? If I should be entitled to this offer then I would appreciate a contact who I could get in touch with to take advantage of this offer.

    Regards,
    dsab
  • Quick question please. I previously left BT to go with Talk Talk but now need a 2nd line so can I get this free offer with BT as well as keeping my existing Talk Talk line ?

Yes, the offer is ok for second lines. However, in your case, I'm guessing that your talktalk is fully llu (with line rental being paid to them) so it would just be a new line that you would be ordering with BT with a new BT account being setup.

    Hi thx for your reply.

Yes the TT line is the package and line rental, so I'd just order a new line as you say I assume. Don't want to mention being a returning customer because that line that's now with TT will stay active with them.

  • Hi, I have tried going through this process several times but I always get the rather abrubt reply 'if you didnt get this offer through the post you are not eligible'

    Is this correct?

I feel it's one rule for some and one for everyone else!

The opening post of this thread has been updated. It now reads:

    Important. Update Note 11.30am 22 April 2009

We’re hearing feedback that people are being turned down for this deal. We’ve written confirmation from BT powers that be, that “It’s available to all customers new, existing and returning.” It's sending out an urgent briefing to its call centre this morning to ensure all of its staff are fully aware of the offer. If you've already tried and failed, try again later.
Unfortunately, it appears BT sales personnel are very poorly trained.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    Did you try calling 0800 100 444?

Keep trying until you get someone at BT who knows about the offer being open to anyone. If you tried the normal number in the OP, try asking for the customer options team. Also, try the number meinnit mentions as this was the one in the letter and was specific to the offer.
