Hi. BT have very recently stopped their "paperless billing discount" that reduced line rental to £11.54 per month, so their basic package is now £12.79.
Nonsense.
The monthly £11.54 line rental for paying by dd and taking paper free billing is still available. As is the £29.99 connection offer ( 18 month non renewing contract ),if they are not able to offer you free connection because you are not taking over a working line.

I've phoned BT, but they're not aware of this offer, they say that if it's still valid I'll have to order online. Using the online ordering the discount doesn't show - unless it appears at the end, but I didn't go that far?
Anyone have a reference number for the special offer or something?
Cheers...No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -

Do make sure your well informed of exactly which call plan you want as well, they do try to automatically put you on one of the more expensive call plans, not the cheapest (if that is what you want)0 -
I took up this offer in June 2009 on behalf of my daughter, so I thought I was one of the lucky ones to succeed with this offer! On 24 July 09 I was charged £122.50 installation fee. 22 Oct 09 I was erroneously charged a cancellation fee of £59.76. After numerous calls, being told BT were at fault, here I am June 2010 still awaiting for BT to refund £182.26. In the meantime, they are taking £99 per month out of my account to cover their error!! I despair, but, once again, have been reassured that the refund will take place within the next three days. Of course, I am optimistic, I don't think!!0

Why let them take money still? Just cancel the DD!
I believe the 11.54 offer has gone online only
You may be able to get it over the phone but you'll have to ring again and again.
If you show a voice of genuine disappointment, like, 'oh no, really? 12.59? Aw man, i dont have the net yet i cant get online and i dont feel safe going on the net elsewhere as ive been part of online fraud before, thats such a shame that you cant do it for me on the system'
Then they might do it for ya...I find that guys usually are quick to just say yeah why not, whereas women are a little too harsh.0 -

I need some help on this.
i signed up in May 2010 at £11.54 pcm, ive now received a letter saying its £12.79. (im on paperless billing) I rang bt theyre saying we've increase our prices.
Can they do this? can I do anything to stop them?
I've got the paperwork saying I'd be charged £11.490 -
Yeah. Just ring them and say i wish to cancel because i signed up with BT on the notion that i will be paying 11.54 and i have the paper from you guys to confirm this.
Now that youve hiked the prices up i am going to Primus. I expect this line to be cancelled without any termination charges as you have changed the terms of the contract i agreed to.
Oh and make sure your DD is cancelled asap and you pay the final bill with a card.0 -
BT's line rental is still £11.54 if you pay by Direct Debit (and therefore avoid the £1.50 'other method of payment' fee) and opt for paper-free billing and so get £1.25/month discount.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
