HOWEVER they are saying I still have to pay £14.40 instead of 11.25 every month!
Are you paying by direct debit and signed up to paperless billing? (otherwise the bill will be around £14)

I'm paying by direct debit and signed up for paperless billing.
I read the whole term and conditions in december before ordering.
all has been confirmed when I called to order.
however they sent me a bill asking for £77.29!
according to the bill I had to pay £29.99 for installation + 3 months in advance of £15.78 amonth.
obvously it was ALL calculated wrong.
so I called them, they agreed to wave off that £29.99 installation charge and reduced the £15.78 to £14.53 (as I signed up for paperless-direct debit payment) BUT they said I can't take monthly £11.25 charge as I am already usuing two discounts.which makes no sennse as all these were mentioned in the original terms and conditions.

it appears they put me in "unlimited weekend & evenings" plan although I requested and ordered "unlimited evening" only.

Yup, I did mention earlier in the thread to pay very careful attention when they sum up your order at the end as they try to put you on the more expensive plan by default. The three months in advance is new to me, we certainly didn't have to do that, and the install should definitely have been free.

Well that is complete !!!!!!!!, none of these are 'discounts'. The unlimited weekend plan is a standard BT tariff and the paperless billing and direct debit are available regardless of tariff.

Unfortunately sounds like you've got some phone calls to make to get this sorted, you got the install charge dropped so your at least half way there :undecided. Explain as calmly as you can that you were sold the wrong tariff and if they say they can't change it ask to speak to someone who can and don't take no for an answer. And I don't envy you so stay calm, hold your nerve and good luck.

(PS And if you get it put right why not make yourself feel better and put THEM on the back foot for a change and push for some sort of compensation for the upset and unnecessary financial difficulty their mis-selling has caused. You never know, they may chuck in a free month or two ;) )

Edit: And just FYI, there is a BT customer service representative on here you can message also if needed: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/member.html?u=687371

If the customer decides to end the contract within the 18 month minimum term, they will incur a single charge of £7.50(on the Unlimited Weekend and Unlimited Evening & Weekend plans) or £8.00(on the Unlimited Anytime plan) for each month left of the minimum term.

Can someone confirm a couple of things for me ?

    1. Is this offer still on ?

    2. I have an existing BT line that is now damaged - the dog chewed through the cabling outside ! I had to put in a junction box to get the phone working again and, although, it's working, it's a bit flakey. I would like to get a new line fitted - would I be able to use this offer to get the new line then transfer my current number across to the new line and then cancel the old (flakey) line. Does anyone know if this would be possible ?

Also, it seems that you cannot PM the BT Comapny Representative any longer - is that right ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jeremy

No,BT will bill you for the repair as
    A-Your dog damaged the line
B-You carried out an illigal repair to their property.

So what constitutes a "chargeable call"?
The 10 calls can be calls which are inclusive (i.e. free) within the free Unlimited Weekend calls plan (you will have that at the very least) and, if needs be, you can just phone 020 7043 1320 (a speaking clock number) ten times in quick succession on any Saturday or Sunday each month.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
