So what constitutes a "chargeable call"?
Any call for which BT set a price and make a charge of 0p or greater. This is highly unlikely to be confirmed by BT CS who take the erroneous view that:Once calls become free of cost they are not chargeable.0 -
Yep, very true and a wonderful help!
I signed up yesterday and was told I had to pay the £125...
However, I just phoned and asked for this to be amended as I was told about an offer that BT had at the moment, and it was altered on my account in about three minutes...
Very very easy...
Thank you)

Hi. In ref to previous some previous posts/Q&A's;
I previously posted a question about the best/cheapest way to get my mum's BT main line box moved to a better location in "Advice on moving main BT telephone socket".
We are now wondering if there could be a way to use the BT free installation deal to sort the problem as my mum would be happy to take the BT deal and have a contract as per the terms offered if she could have the box moved to an accessible/practical location.
Thanks0 -

Seems a little extreme, but you're entitled to go for it. You'll have to cancel the other line at some time, of course.0 -
I can confirm this offer is still valid as long as you take out an 18 month contract. I went to a BT store this morning, although they didn't volunteer any information about the offer as soon as I mentioned it they were fine. Basicly they don't promote the offer but are happy to honour it.
Anyway, I got the store number and called them a few hours later sorted it all out over the phone in minutes which saved calling the 'offshore' call centres!
The store number is 01708 804966, don't forget to mention the offer first!!0 -
I'm already a BT customer and am moving house. I phoned this afternoon on the 0800 number about this deal and was put through to the moving home team. When I asked about it I had that sinking feeling that she was going to be difficult as she didn't seem to know anything about it.
BUT amazingly I had no problems whatsoever. She put me on hold, went through all the stuff that goes with checking the new address etc and then said she could waive the connection fee as long as I agreed to an 18month contract. She didn't say anything about changing my package (I only have line rental), or about having to make 10 calls per month, although I'll make sure I read the small print when I recieve confirmation. I was plesantly surprised by this since I've been using Sky for my calls for the past few months.
Lets hope I can get a decent deal with Sky now
PS. They did say that I could take my number with me which although is fantastic for me, I did wonder if that means that the line is then disconnected and will have to be paid for by the next tenant. Is this their new money maker?
Anyway, thank you all who have given advice, I'm sure I'm not the only one who is appreciative.0 -
I was sent a link for free connection/install, but it is the package with £4.99 on top
as a new poster I cant post it but it is the: bt site followed by forward slash anytimecalls
if anyone has the link for just £11.54 no £125 connection fee that would be great0 -
You can now sign up for this on line, I have just applied & received a free line installation with the 18 month line & broadband contract0
