The BT offer maybe free but your tied in for 18 month with little option to swap broadband providers. I guess some people out there just want a bt line and then be able to choose there own deal without a financial penalty for swapping.

The offer is NOT linked to BB

All you need to do is take an 18 month line rental contract for 11.25 a month and make 10 calls a month.

Its not brain surgery to me but you can not get a better deal at the moment.

Yes but his problem is that he wants to take a digital tv/bb package. Assuming it's Sky he's thinking of then to get the cheaper bb you have to also take Sky Talk which means he can't put his 10 calls via BT to qualify.

    My son has just looked at this and was thinking of getting BB with Sky as he will be getting Sky HD fitted. However with the tie in with Sky Talk now he looked elsewhere. He has gone for;

    Free Bt installation
BB with O2 at £7.34pm (presumably going back to £7.50 in January) - first 3 months free and £75 cashabck through Quidco ( so he's actually being paid £7.50 to take BB for a year)
Sky HD - free box, £30 installation, £50 M&S vouchers and £65 cashback from Quidco ( unfortunately just missed the £100 cashback)
  • There is also tiscali tv which includes bb and calls. I couldn't get this if i was tied in with bt or sky.

    good call

I have been with Sky talk for a couopel of years. The only benefit over BT is that the fiver a month package (which is the one I have) includes international calls so when I call the US its frtee. its also a £1.25 a month cheaper.

But as I need a new phone line and Sky wanted 40 quid to isntall even if I signed up to the BT deal for 18 months I am still quids in and will just use 1899.com to call the US.

A pain but to get the savings you need to work LOL

Well done on the quidco deals. Cnat beat the,. I get BB from work and need a static IP so I use freedom2surf :)

    Cheers

  • i just got this offer myself. i was tired of being on Virgin and therefore tied down to their deals... Talk Talk and O2 offer more competitive broadband but a BT line is needed as usual.

    TO CLARIFY
    1) £12.50/month for 18 monthly payments paid by Direct Debit, but it's £11.25 if you pick paperless billing which you can do online at BT.com once the paperwork comes through the post.
    2) It was pretty quick. I only have to wait 7 days for installation.
    3) I need to inform Virgin myself that I'm leaving.

You could well be charged the full connection fee if engineering work is required if you have agreed to a normal connection 12 month contract, and not the 18 month contract free connection offer.;)
