    Hi All

I have just spoken to a VERY nice lady (called Sue) at BT and even thought we are not moving until 1st Feb I still managed to get the FREE deal...

    THANK YOU MSE :T :T :T
Thats interesting, good for you Three Clicks as we are moving in Jan to a new Wimpey house and I was not allowed to book it yet as I was told it would be deleted from teh system ;(

    When are they installing yours?

If you get a numpty saying that, ask for the Customer Options Team (most of them appear to know about the offer) but, if you still get problems, hang up and try again.

Eventually (sad, I know) you will get someone with the necessary training and/or knowledge.

Bear in mind you do NOT need to take broadband, TV or anything else with this offer and you CAN opt for the lowest calls plan (the Unlimited Weekend Plan).

surely the all you can eat calls for a fiver a month is not a bad deal if you Mrs is home all day?

  • Hey,

Couple of quick questions as the BT engineer is due out tomorrow morning.

I take it he'll only install on point? Will this be realistically where I want it, or wherever he feels like it? I take it they're usually pretty good with running discreet wiring?

I'm getting sky installed the following week but the phone point needed for that will be on the other side of the room from the normal telephone point. Will sky just run an extension?

With regards getting the line put in any other rooms, will the bt man do this, or will it just be one point he installs? Otherwise, hopefully it's fairly easy to do myself, or fairly cheap to get someone to do it :-)

I'll be on the unlimited weekend calls plan. Can I add on evening at a later date if I want to, or am I fixed on this plan for the 18months?

    Thanks,

    Graham.

I'm going to phone bt today. Apart from my bank details is there anything else i need to have before i call them? I've cancelled my virgin media account so they don't need that info.

i'M also calling from a mobile and i think the 0800 number wont be included in my minutes, i've searched SAYNOTO0870 and found these numbers, anyone know the number i should call?
  • Hey,

The link didn't work for me, just said no search results found.

But as for it not being taken out your free minutes, I think you're right. I know O2 don't include 0800 anymore, not sure about all the rest.

But to get around that, use this number:

    02002220700

I found it on these forums actually. It's a normal geographical number (looks like a london one), so it should (and does for me) get taken out my free minutes since it thinks it's calling that, rather than the 0800 number. When prompted, simply enter your 0800 number and it should call it.

Hope this helps and works for you.

    Graham.

Yes it will only be one point.

Unfortunately that depends on the engineer you get.

Sky will run an extension if needed - it's part of the installation. However why not get the BT point over beside the TV?
With regards getting the line put in any other rooms, will the bt man do this, or will it just be one point he installs?

It's one master point that is installed. BT will charge £70 for each extension socket plus £125 for the call out unless it's done at the same time.

You can probably do it yourself cheaply or get someone else for much less.
Otherwise, hopefully it's fairly easy to do myself, or fairly cheap to get someone to do it :-)

    Much cheaper than BT.

You should be able to move up a plan with no problem. Moving down would not be allowed.

You can call BT on 0132 445 0590 from your mobile. Just ask to be put through to the Customer Options Team to get this offer.

Yes you can change your plan to E&W but while you usually can get the evening and weekend package free if you take a rolling contract, you won't get it with this free line installation offer.
