Ok, intend to take up the free reconnection, I accept you have to make the 10 calls a month, but if i were to also take sky tv, broadband and talk package I would still be paying less than I currently do with my cable supplier, question is if I were to take the sky talk package how do I make the 10 calls on BT to continue to qualify for the free connection... am I missing something or just a bit silly.
Many thanks in advance

Not taking Sky Talk could be a solution.0 -

You're correct, you could not make the required calls via BT if you opted for Sky Talk (even as your CPS calls provider) - because Sky's use of BTW's WCLI means the 1280 prefix no longer alters the routing of calls.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Just girded my loins for the BT phone call to get a new line, expecting all the trouble aforementioned!
Easy! Spoke to a UK centre, the guy didn't know about the deal, but two minutes later came back with a yes, no problem. My install is even in October, and the deal is supposed to finish end of September. It really does depend who you speak to. I don't know if Saturday morning makes a difference.0 -
Just called BT tonight to take up the offer on a second line. After much talking with his managers, the guy says the offer cannot be used on a second line and I must pay the full price of £122.50.
Call again and ask for the Customer Options Team immediately.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. My ex phoned for this offer but was asked for £25 in his bank account upfront? Sounded a bit dodgy to me. Anyone else been asked for this?0

Hi leemar, you can take out the free connection offer on a second line within your premises as long as you open a new account with BT for your second line as you are only allowed a minimum of one special offer with each account. With the free connection offer you will be entering into a new 18 month contract with your chosen calling plan at the standard charge *no special offer calling plans deals can be taken out with this offer. If you are happy to set up a new account for your second line you can PM your details and what calling package you wish to have on your second line and I can place the order for you.. Hi devils_vixen, The £25.00 payment that your ex would have been asked for would have been a payment in advance towards his first bill, I will PM you now with details to why this payment was requested.. Thanks Natasha BT Support“Official Company Representative

hello
I applied online for a BT line and the free connection fee was done automatically for me. I did not have to ask at all. I was ready to haggle but did not have to!! They just stipulate that its an 18 month contract.. you do get a choice whether or not you want to go down this route.
one happy bunny anyway. Thanks for the info on this. It made me join up in the first place. Pre warned is forwarned. Thanks MSE !!! :beer:0 -

As I am a new customer, after using the line for 9months on this plan, I will be away for 3 months, therefore will be unable to make the required 10calls/month for that 3months so I will be charged extra for the three months. Then, after those 12months, I will be back again and be moving into a new home. I suppose then they'll be charging me the 120+pounds to setup the line in my new place? Will I be able to transfer the remaining contract (6months)? If that is the case, then I believe I am saving on the first setup, rather than paying for two setups if I dont go for this promo? Or is this not worth it in my case?
Also, how long normally does it take to setup the line? Will I be able to register for one before moving into my new place this october, so that I dont have to wait that long for phone/internet when I move in?
Appreciate all the help. Thanks.
BT representative, if you could help me with my queries, that would be great, especially on whether or not I can apply for a line now and set a setup date before moving into my home so that the process would be faster.
Thank you.Eleventh Heaven #23101 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 110
