  • I was dusting and clearing the shelves on the bookcase and took the money pot off so I wouldn't break it and polished the shelves and put the money pot back but didn't put it back properly and it fell off and broke and scattered coins everywhere :(

On the upside I have counted what we've saved and in total we saved £254 :D so I am going to finish the savings cards that we've got and put the remainder in the bank.

Totally gutted as I wanted to see how much we'd have when it was full, now I'll have to find something else to put the coins in.

The good thing is that the shelves are nice and tidy and clutter free at last :)

Hi PT - just wanted to pop in and say Hi  I have just read your diary. I used to read your other diary but for various reasons haven't posted for ages. You are amazing, I don't know how you do it all, you are an inspiration to me as you really seem to have everything under control.

i had o ne of those teramundi's i loved it ...shame they cost so much to buy though
  • Hi everyone who posts and lurks on my diary :hello:

I went to the bank and paid in £172 of which £70 was paid extra off the c.c. I would have paid more in but DD saw the magazines in Tesco when we went in to get the rest of the stamps that I ended up parting with £5, still it keeps them quiet for a bit.

I worked out that stamp wise I need £53 to fill the remaining cards and went all the way round to Tesco’s only to find out that the machine was empty and despite telling them and coming back ¾ of an hour later it was still empty, so I’m going back tomorrow in a vain hope that it’s sorted then. I can stop worrying about food and alcohol for Christmas then.

Hi Percy – Nice to see you again; as for keeping things under control – I see this whole debt thing a bit like a duck, nice and calm on the surface but paddling furiously underneath to keep from going under. We are slowly improving but things could be better IFKWIM.

Hi SH – I can’t take all the credit for the savings, DH has been giving me the odd £2 and £1 coin over the past few months. I told him that I’m still saving them :) so should still have some more savings by Christmas.

Hi El – How are you? Nice to see you back again. I agree about them being expensive though. DH and the kids got both of my last ones and mum has offered to buy me another one when she comes down to visit. I know what you mean about loving them…I was trying to see just how much I could get in to this one after last years success.

Panic stations time, DH will be home in an hour and I’ve still to get the kids beds done and tidied. At least dinner is cooking in the oven and the washing is nearly finished.

Off to see a sick friend in hospital this evening, so I’ll catch you all tomorrow.

Last day of term today and the fun starts now or so I’m told….six weeks of bliss with both children at home. I am however totally knackered this morning as both kids woke up last night, DD had a nightmare and DS kept losing his cuddly.

Amazon have e-mailed to say that they have deposited £3.63 over to the current account and I have checked the savings account and DH’s Paypal has arrived too.

On the e-bay side of things, I have one to send today and two have bids on.

I also did a Lightspeed survey yesterday and have managed to redeem a whole £1 still it helps.

I didn’t go to see my friend last night; I’m going to do that tonight instead. It gives me chance to pick her up something today.

I am going to attempt to get some stamps again this morning from Tesco’s, I am eager to fill the cards up so that they are done and dusted…watch this space.

    Plan for today:
    • Wake up - Getting there
    • Wash up
    • Post office - Done 90p spent
    • Something for my friend - Done £4.00 spent
Have a good day and I’ll catch up later.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the meters were read yesterday morning, so I have a suspicion that we are due to get a bill through for the gas and electric. It shouldn't be too high this time but if it is I'm going to look again at changing suppliers.

    Dear Tea,

I stand back in awe at your relentless enthusiasm & determination :A

Glad to hear your night out with OH & friends is now all sorted :D

Must remember to do school pick up at 1.30
  • Been to the post office and duly posted the parcel, turns out that it was only 90p in the end not £2.50 as previously thought so I did a good deed and refunded the excess money back to the buyer. Some people will probably criticize me for doing that but to me the buyer may need it more.

I have made cakes for DH for work tomorrow and roped DD in to helping me, granted she was more interested in eating the chocolate cake mixture than spooning it in to the cake cases but a nice batch has been cooked and is now cooling nicely.

Finally got the paperwork through for DD for her operation next Wednesday, so I need to sort that out and get it back to them ASAP.

Also something I sent off for from the Low Spend Freebies Board has arrived, some sample make up for DH’s niece for Christmas, so that has now been squirreled away.

Lula – I don’t envy you having to pick DD up at 1:30…DS is in school until 3pm today :D

Off to do some icing and then feeding time for DD, catch you later.
  • Had a better night’s sleep last night…neither of the kids woke up, which is always a good thing.

Went to see my friend in hospital last night and the doctors have said that she is most likely to be released next week, that’s a good thing as her hubby is missing her terribly and looks kind of lost without her.

The kids and I are off to the market today to get some veg and fruit and if the weather stays nice, we are going to the park this afternoon otherwise it'll be play-doh.

The shopping was delivered yesterday; I thought it was today it was coming. So we are now sorted on the food front for a while.

My e-bay sales are doing well…DH is worried that I am selling everything, bless him. I have told him I’m only getting rid of stuff that we don’t need any more that’s taking up space and I’m having a de-clutter at the same time. The loft is rammed full of stuff that can be sold or taken to the charity shop, come to think of it so is the rest of the house

I have checked the online banking and nothing gone out there but nothing come in yet either, DH has still been taking his lunch so that’s a good thing as he’s not spending on that.

I managed to get the Tesco stamps yesterday and am £7 away from £250 for Christmas food and drink.

    Plan for today:
    • Market
    • Wash up
    • Something for DS’s bestfriend for his birthday.
    • Sort something for dinner…ham, eggs and chips??
    • Park or play-doh
    • Hoover
Off to have some breakfast and have a shower and then get motivated. Have a good day everyone.
