Pay day whoop, whoop!
We are a whole £20 in the black, which won’t be there too long I fear.
I have three e-bay parcels to send off this morning all before 10am as that is when the shopping is supposed to be delivered.
On the e-bay side of things, one of the items has a watcher, so I am hoping that it will sell as well as some more bits. At least I now have enough in Paypal to pay for the fees, so that’s something I don’t have to find money for
I had a message on my phone from DD’s consultant, he is proposing to do the operation on the 29th July which is really quick, so I need to phone him back today and say yes please and then ring PruHealth and get an authorisation number. I found out that the last consultant that DD was seeing had sent his invoice to the previous insurer and therefore I need to ring him and give him PruHealth’s authorisation code and get him to send it to them instead.
Plan for today:- Post Office - Done £6.39 spent
- Optician's for DH contact lenses - Done £30 spent
- Ring Consultant and agree date - Done
- Ring PruHealth - Done authorisation code transferred and explained about invoices with other consultant
- Ring other Consultant with Authorisation number - Done awaiting call back
- Put shopping away - Done
- Change beds - Kids ones done
- Do one load of washing - Second load nearly finished
- Clean bathroom - Done
- Reassess finances - Not yet, plan for tomorrow???
Have a good day everyone.0 -

Morning Tea & all else who emanate positive vibes here

Great news on DDs op being soon, less time to fret. I'm off to view this £20 challenge & see whether I can cope ...
You have way too much housework to do Tea, I feel ashamed

Just another boring update but I know that if I don’t I’ll forget.
Shopping has arrived and been put away total £236.17 for food and alcohol and next weeks delivery will be £90.63, not including any veg that gets bought next week, total so far for the month: £326.80, I am aiming for £350 this month so if we can keep things tight we should be okay. I did buy DH enough snacks and stuff for his lunches, so that should be cheaper in the long run.
I am making chicken casserole for dinner tonight and using up the rest of the veg that is hanging around in the fridge.
I have sold another item on Amazon, I’m going to make a loss but if it didn’t sell then I was going to give it to the charity shop, so live and learn…I’m going to ask my friend tomorrow if he’ll post it for me, that’ll save me hanging around the post office first thing.
Off to feed DD before I attack the kids beds.
Edit: Forgot to mention that I also filled my car £44.03 gone there, I am going to see just how long I can make it last me, before I fill up again.0 -
Have some goodish news (I think?) DH has/had some shares in Friends Provident and due to a demerger
they sold his share on his behalf and as a result he is now has a cheque £25.42 ready to be banked, I can't figure out from the letter if he still has them or not?
Also another item has sold on e-bay, so getting there slowly; I need to photograph the rest of the clothes and get them uploaded as soon as possible.0 -
tea sounds like you are very motivated - esp with the ebay thing... Good news on the £25 too it all helps. Hope DD's op goes to plan too!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Nearly weekend…how exciting? DH is working on site on Saturday probably until about 1pm.
I was in bed at 9pm last night, had the most awful headache that I couldn’t shift most of yesterday
I put it down to stressing about money and feeling out of control all the time…at least I feel a bit more wide awake this morning.
Checked the bank account online and nothing has come out?!? I know that money has been spent so I just don’t think that it’s updated yet. I’ll check it again later and hopefully find out what’s going on.
I need to post two parcels today, one Amazon and one E-bay. I checked e-bay this morning and two of the items on there have watchers, fingers crossed for some more sales…please, please, please let someone else buy my tat
Plan for today:- Bank cheque
- Market for fruit and veg
- Go see my friend at old work
- Wash up
- Sort washing and put away
- Sort something for dinner
I was thinking about what Hypno was saying on her thread about different elements of her life are like little jobs and as such if she treats them like jobs then she stays more focussed on completing them, or something like that (sorry Hypno if I translated it wrong) but I think she’s right, in order for me to battle this debt and run the house I need to be more focussed. A new plan for the coming weeks is in order I think especially as DS is off school from Wednesday.
Off to get motivated, have a good day everyone and I’ll update later.0 -

Yes, he still has a holding of Friends Provident. They split off part of the company (F&C Asset Management), and if you had less than 2500 shares, instead of getting a certificate for an extra small holding, they sent the cash equivalent instead.
So, bank the cheque for £25, and he will still have the same number of shares in Friends Provident Group that he used to have.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hypno, you're a star, thank you. Free money is free money as they say, he didn't buy the shares in the first place, so it has gladly gone into the bank

Back from my excursions this morning to find that two more items have been sold on e-bay…so Paypal is rising slowly and as long as everyone likes what they bought that’ll be a good thing.
I spent way too much this morning.
Essential stuff: £5.50 – Eggs and toothpaste
Non essential stuff: £4.00 – Drink, plate and books for kids
With everyone talking about MOT’s I came home to find a letter from the last place that did mine to let me know my car’s due one soon, it’s also due a service too this year.
I have this niggling feeling that something unpleasant is going to happen soon and I don’t know what it is…I’m not one for paying any attention to feelings like this but I just can’t shake it off, time will tell I guess.
Anyway, off to get the washing up done and to sort the washing out before I go to the post office.0
