Hi Karen
You sound so organised - you put me to shame
Try not to feel overwhelmed, we all feel a bit like that sometimes but 'baby steps' is the way to go
Take care

I'm not that organised, just knew that at 5am I would not want to be rushing around. I am wiped out now and feel a bath and bed is due! x0 -
After a fun filled day of travelling to London I am wiped out! Nothing interesting to report - need to update my spending diary with train fares etc for today  Had to get a weekly ticket as up again Thurs and Fri.
Aiming for some no spend days tues and wed to make up for today and also working overtime Wed evening (From home) and potentially overtime at the weekend also which would be fab as means will have a nice lump sum to pay off debts in Sept.
Still feeling very emotional about things at the moment, want so much but can't get it. I think like Shoegal said - baby steps - :A It's so nice to get peoples advice on here.
I am trying to look at it in £5K stages and my aim now is to reach £45K balance and then £40K and so on. If I look at the whole balance it scares the hell out of me  My main aim is to get it to a managable level and then obviously rid of it but to get it down to under £25K would be amazing for me as feel I could manage and live at the same time. Lots of hard work to be done in the meanwhile.
Anyhow enough babbling, off to read some more diaries whilst running myself a bath.....oh and getting Oscar off of my hair as at the moment he is chewing my ponytail :rotfl:

It's only a small thing but I took my total debt out of my signature, now I only show what I've paid off and the current debt I am throwing any extra at. My regular DCA payments are being made in the background plus the minimum on my Lloyds credit card so my overall debt is still reducing but not looking at the total every day works better for me
Now you are doing your own DMP maybe you can pick a smaller debt to throw any extra at or keep a running total until you have enough to offer F&F on the smallest debt?Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -

I'm planning on hopefully making some F&F on my smaller debts if I can work some more overtime - I am excited about being more in control. Just hoping the DCA's don't get too nasty. They've been ok so far, gosh I hate this debt business :mad:0 -

Me too but 'business' is the right word! Keep it professional, just like in a work situation, and don't take it personally :ASometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -

Hiya,
Yeah, I agree, think on your debt busting as a business or work thing if you know what I mean and that will help you to keep everything organised and professional. Cutting it down into chunks is a good idea too.
Hope you coping with city working this week, I don't envy you that at all. I am cheesed off today - annoyed at myself for being badly organised with my free time and not getting housework etc done when I should!

Evening all,
Hope everyone is well and had a good day
SG - def do need to think like it as 'business' and defo not take it personally!
SH - I CAN'T WAIT to see the figures go down.
Primula - totally understand how you feel. I've had a couple of weeks feeling this way. My organisation skills have been lost somewhere for a while and only just starting to show signs of returning :rotfl:
Today has been pretty non eventful, working from home thankfully.....and then go and have a power cut  No point in travelling into the office as by the time I got there I would only work for a couple of hours before returning home again. Anyhow from about 9am to gone 4pm I was without electric. Needless to say I used this time to have a nap, washing and entice my lovely boyfriend into sorting through some clothes etc so the flat is getting there in the sense of being properly sorted - woo hoo!
Just going to do my daily scratchies, keeping up with my spending diary and it's def working in stopping me spending the pennies. No spend day for me which is another bonus.
Nothing else to report apart from need to go back to my little daily lists as they seem to be the only way for me to keep on top of things. I also (after this week as in London loads) need to start getting up a little earlier and not dragging myself out of bed and starting work early! Getting into bad habits
Right off to catch up with others!
