    SUCCESS!!! WOO WOO :j

Just opened the letter from Nat West offering me £4,951 - as i only claimed for about £2,800 i think this is a quality result. I've sent the acceptance form back and the money will be credited to my account within 21 days (but having spoken to the lady who deals with it she said it would most likely only take 3 days from receipt of form).

Thanks for the help on this site - if i can help anyone out i will.
This gives me a lot of faith as I am going down the hardship with Natwest.
    Congrats to you:j

Any of you found the Ombudsman service helpful? I am still waiting to hear from them i sent then the letters 2 weeks ago recorded delivery.

I found them really helpful. I received an acknowledgement letter concerning my claim after two weeks, another letter about two weeks later letting me know they were getting information from my bank and a phone call a week later - followed by another letter - saying my claim had been passed to a different team and would take 4-6 weeks.

All in all, it has taken 2 months so far. Although the process is obviously long (and I did expect it to be), at least I have been given information as to how long so I am impressed so far. Saying that, as of this week, it has gone beyond the six week mark.

Their information sheet states that they will deal with any queries within 90 days. I am hoping no news is good news!
  • Well after 6 months trying to get Natwest to refund unfair charges of £ 1862 accrued in the last 16 months thru Financial Hardship criteria I have filed complaint with the FOS 12/05/2009. Step Account holder which is their basic account, and all receipts into account are benefits. So each 4 week period they claw back about £114.00. Wish me Luck and I'll keep you posted:mad: martinfrancais

    halifax financial hardship claim

Hi,I claimed financial hardship nearly 9weeks ago. I recieved a letter yesterday saying after my recent correspondence fom customer relations they were writing to make me aware of a service which is availbale to people with financial difficulties.

Has anyone else recieved a letter like this and if so does it mean my cliam has been rejected???any help would be greatly appreciated folks.thank u!!!:confused:

We are trying to claim back with Halifax and this letter is just one to try and guide you to their services, it's just a sideline not linked to the claim as such. We had 3 or 4 letters in 2 weeks repeating themselves and also slightly contradicting what we had been told on the phone.

However, end result was I spoke to the financial advise woman who agreed they couldn't help our situation and seemed we had done everything we could to minimise our costs etc. We were told by the person actually dealing with the claim that although they agreed we was in financial hardship they wanted us to wait until the test case is over. I am now in the process of filing a complaint with the FOS.

In answer to your question - I would say this letter does not answer your claim and to expect another letter soon with your result - but if I was you I would phone now and ask them if they have reached a decision. We were phoning every other day!

They agreed I qualified for hardship- but added that their charges are legal so stand and say they will keep doing so - until a change in the law prevents them. Same boat as you- they offers a debt managment appointment- Thing is- I would be in debt if it want for them and their damn charges!

Yep! Same as! Are you going to the FOS now??
