            They agreed I qualified for hardship- but added that their charges are legal so stand and say they will keep doing so - until a change in the law prevents them. Same boat as you- they offers a debt managment appointment- Thing is- I would be in debt if it want for them and their damn charges!
THEY HAVENT EVEN SAID IF I QUALIFY OR NOT SO HOPEFULLY THERES STILLA CHANCE. THEY JUST SAID ABOUT THE MANAGMENT APPOINTMENT. I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED IF I RECIEVE ANYTHING:mad:0 -

Dear Natwest staff member,natweststaffmember wrote: »NatWest are talking a pile of crap. The FSA Waiver quotes about limitations periods.

the firm must not take into account the period between 27 July 2007 and the date of termination of this direction (the “stay period”) for the purposes of relying on any limitation period (or periods) or time limits within which complainants must:
(a)
make relevant charges complaints;
(b)
refer relevant charges complaints to the Ombudsman; or
(c)
bring claims before the court;
and the firm must not otherwise limit any redress that may be due to the customer, when complying with DISP or otherwise, because of the stay period;"
Thanks for the posting and advise.
Sorry to sound thick but does the FSA quote mean i can claim right back to July 2001?
Natwest play a very clever game with people like me who have limited knowlwdge of the FSA rules.Thank heaven for sites like this and people like you.:A

            Please help HSBC have said i can have £460 charges reclaimed, alot less than I worked out. But I can re apply again in two months and they will look at my criteria and see if I am still in hardship and could get some more charges back. Dont want to seem greedy and am very glad of that back but I know I will still be in hardship then and I dont want to have to go through this all again in 2 mths its taken be ages to get this far. And in 2mths they said they will require more proofs than this time. Any ideas/help, Please dont think I do not appreciate the above money but it just seems silly you either are in hardship or not
Thanks0 -

SUCCESS!!! WOO WOO :j
Just opened the letter from Nat West offering me £4,951 - as i only claimed for about £2,800 i think this is a quality result. I've sent the acceptance form back and the money will be credited to my account within 21 days (but having spoken to the lady who deals with it she said it would most likely only take 3 days from receipt of form).
Thanks for the help on this site - if i can help anyone out i will.0 -

            Hi, I claimed £3368 form Barclays which included interest. I just checked my online banking account and they have paid me a goodwill gesture or £2505, this is my claim without interest. Only took 2 weeks which is amazing!! I sent only had to send Martin's first step template letter and received a reply saying they are looking into my hardship claim and I would get my response by the end of May. Heard nothing from them since but money is in my account so I am a very happy bunny !!!
Thanks Martin, you were a great help. :j0 -
            I just received £750 from the abbey national - I asked for £900 - but have accepted. I tried two years ago to get this back with no success. Under the hardship rules this time they have agreed. It took 9 weeks. I'm so grateful to this site!!
Hoping this good luck will continue with the other charges and the PPI I am reclaiming. :j0
