  • Bank: Abbey
Asked for: £1800 withoout interest (even though added into letter)
    Offer: £289.94

Not very happy them at Abbey have told me the reason that they are only giving me this amount is that it is to clear my debt of with them and with a utility bill. I have contacted the FOS. They have said they will look into the case. I dont think this is fair when people on hardship cases like myself are getting the full amount. Anybody out there with any help Please......

I have never really had bank charges until last month when my salary cleared in my account on 28th April and 6 DD's came out on 27th April. Alliance and Leicester charged me £25 for each one and I called them up and said that I wanted all the money refunded to me immediately. They said they could pay £50 but I was persistent and said that this would cause me severe financial problems if I did not get every penny back asap. I spoke to 3 people and was on the phone for half an hour but I did it - I got £125 back that day!

Hi I put my claim in for £2150.00 (4 years bank charges) to Nationwide on Friday. I rung the branch today to ensure they had posted my claim off and they confirmed they had. They gave me a telephone number for the claims department in Northampton. I rung them and the claims person said my claim was not on the system yet but to ring back on Monday. They will definately write to me within the next week she said. I will let you know once I hear anything.
