easyJet are starting direct flights to Santorini from Gatwick this summer, so they're on the way!

I still doubt it though, its too expensive to stay there and there isnt anything remotly of chav interest and they probably wouldnt even be able to understand it. Dont think that flight will be on for long. I hope not anyway :rotfl:
  • You could always try the Scilly Isles, definitely chav free and not too far to travel!

I'll be in Egypt in a fortnight - not expecting much in the way of chavs there ( Luxor and Cairo) , well, right up until we finish off in Sharm - apparently Russians are the problem there! - Eating all the food, wanting all the sunbeds, pushing in, drinking copious amounts etc. Sounds chavvy to me.

You should be ok in Luxor and Cairo, it's too cultured there for the beer and chips brigade. As you say though, the Red sea coast suffers from the Russians for all the reasons you mention. They are rude, have no idea about waiting to be served at the bar. Even the kids push in to get their ice creams when you are already waiting to be served.
Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j

Avoid AI hotels as that tends to attract the chavvier types who wish to load up on as much booze and crappy food as possible, avoid anywhere where the brochure/agent mentions " a lively nightlife" and always go long haul.
    Oh yes...all inclusive....they love it...

    How about South West France?
We tend to go to Charente, its typical France, you may find a few English speaking people, also English that have moved over to France looking for peace and quiet (def not the loutish kind).
We tend to try and avoid the main touristy places and look for peace and quiet. I LOVE rural France.
If you are interested, i can pm you details of where we stayed.

ooh, this is promising ...we are going to Charante Maritime on hols this year and hoping for a chav free time!

any tips on good places to go...?
