Chav-free holidays.... Do they exist?

Ah yes...Transylvania...sounds interesting.
Malta? went once, what a hovel. I hear Gozo is different.
The curious thing about Malta is that the locals think its ok to dump old washing machines, assorted household appliances and rubble by the roadside and they only speak to you if they think they can extract money from you.
A barren rock in the Med.....glad i only paid a pittance to go and i wont return.
Its even hard work getting a decent meal in the place. What a dump.
I'm half Maltese, however I agree with you. :rolleyes:0 -
Nice to hear there are people like us who hate chavs too ha ha! I always thought the USA was free from chavs but on a recent flight home to Glasgow (we're not from Glasgow) we had a drunk Glaswegian man behind us who had a fit when the air hostess told him to put his bottle of whisky up in the hold, he obviously wanted to drink it on his way home. He was accompanied by his chavvy family, it was awful. His 2 chavvy grand daughters were sitting beside him and when they got on the flight, we heard one of these nice classy girls announce to the whole plane in their loud Glaswegian voice, "oh man, ma pits are minging". Translated, that means she was perhaps a bit sweaty. My question is, how can these people afford to travel to the USA??? Surely, their benefits can't stretch that far???
I was talking to the secretary of a divorce solicitor. Part of her job is typing up what people earn and what the own... and what they owe. People who can barely write a letter can have jobs on wages three times and more what she is earning. (£17K).0 -
How about Mallorca? Before anyone shoots me down in flames, I would clarify that I mean around the north coast of Mallorca, such as Deia and Valdemossa, Soller & Pollensa, NOT Magaluf or Palma Nova (which should be avoided at all costs in my opinion - unless you are under 21!!).
Deia, Valdemossa and Pollensa all attract tourists, but in my experience, those interested in the culture and seeing the "real mallorca" and the beautiful scenery - not the chavvy type!!
The north side of Mallorca is mountainous and very beautiful. Lots of culture and local tapas restaurants to try. Lots of interesting things to see and do. Several small, quiet coves you could walk to for a quiet day on the beach. You could hire a small villa in the countryside and if you avoid the school holidays and go in June you should be able to get somewhere quite reasonably priced.
You'd need to fly in and out of Palma which is easy and it is only 45 mins to 1 hour drive up towards the mountains.
I hope this helps!
We've used Mallorca Farmhouses for acommodation - lovely villas with pools. Most are quite big villas but they do do some smaller ones.
Yep was about to post this also - great weather and outside the main resorts (avoid Alcudia on north coast) its lovely. We astayed between pollensa and puerto pollensalast year and stayed ina villa 10 minutes drive for the Port which is certainly not overun by Brit chavs. It is probably one of the most expensive areas of majorca but very nice . Also consider the West coast down near Soller which is beautiful also0 -
My boyfriend and I went to Side in Turkey last year and I was totally chuffed at the lack of Brits there!lol There were mostly Germans and other Euros but only a handful of Brits so when we went out to eat and for a few drinks it was such a nice chilled atmosphere - also stunning views and lush beaches on our doorstep where we stayed. Feel free to PM me if you'd like hotel details0

I think that a chav has a lack of taste and possibly manners not necessarily a lack of money.0 -
Apparently, cos of the credit crunch,ALL the CHAVS are staying in the UK this summer.Anyone interested in chavwatching check out your local caravan site0

Come to think of it, we did our first cruise last year, totally chav free it was :rotfl:
Also, have you thought about Malta ? Close to the UK, but seems to attract the more discerning types, of course you still need to pick your location carefully !
We did a cruise last year with Royal Carribean , hated it , compared it to an up market Butlins lol.
Try Florida Gulf Coast or Cozumel ( an island off of Mexico )0 -

yes benefits do not have to equal loud brash behaviour and excessive spending....most of the familys ive met abroad like this are actually hard workers who are sadly lacking in taste and manners maybe but usually are workers and to be fair like to spend time with their kids , very loudly i admit usually by the the pool bar:rolleyes:
on another scale we could all work as surgeons etc talk with posh accents and go to the costa de la luz on a non chavvy hol and abandon our kids...
whoops i forgot no ones sopposed to critise them are they:rolleyes::rolleyes:***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0
