I have ahd two reports of Virgin flights from MAN to FLA that are pretty grim...full of chavs taking their ill behaved brats to Disney..imagine it..locked in a metal tube with them all for all that time..

When we were in Florida last year some of the staff told us they can always spot a Brit as "the ones wearing football shirts and yelling at their kids" !

I went to Texas in 2006. Totally chav-free. We visited San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Houston and went to the beach in Galveston. It was awesome.

How about a trip to Iceland? That should keep everyone apart and therefore happy. If you're not a chav you'll no doubt head for the scenery and appreciate that the geysers aren't dodgey, if you are a chav you'll make for the nuggets and prawn rings!

Oh I hope not, we're going for xmas with Virgin and after paying £4k (not bad considering it's now £8k) hope it's mainly chav free. Went Premium Economy with them 2 yrs ago to Barbados and it was fab, but the prices were so much more this time had to book economy  we came back economy and it was really cramped maybe it was cos we had the nice seats going, still time to upgrade though !!

I think Florida is big enough for it not to be chav central.

Ljubjana in Slovenia is nice and chilled out, with a couple of good day trips.

I couldn't agree more - had a wonderful time there a few years ago and would love to go back. Didn't hear another British accent the whole time! :D

Luxembourg - very European, nice weather in summer, nice cafe type sitting out watching the world go by, but not very many Brit tourists.

Western Canada - Whistler is the nicest/coolest place I've been - hoping to go back there.

I resent the "Brits wear football shirts" on hols remark - normally it's only white and red tops we've seen:p- in Gibraltar we could tell it was a cruise ship full of 'em that had landed compared to say, Germans or Swedes - even the women had on their Ingerland tee shirts.:rotfl:

Yes! Go to Aubeterre- its a lovely little square with a couple of local bars and antique shops and a restaurant or two, it also has a beautiful church that actually sits in the cliffside. You wouldnt go there for more than a day (not enough to do) but in the Summer the locals build a man-made beach along the lake where people go to cool off- its great. Definately NO chavs there just french locals who are really friendly.

Also, Bordeaux there is a beautiful gothic castle with a restaurant in one of the wings- amazing food and even more amazing wine as you can imagine! I was lucky enough to be taken there for Valentine's day a couple of years ago, be sure to book though as you can never get in! I cant remember the name of it though! Damn! Will have a think about that and post it once I remember.

Oh and Poitiers airport isnt far who do bargain flights from London :jI remember flying for 1p!

Aubeterre is lovely, and my sister runs a creperie there ;) You can also fly to Bergerac, Bordeaux and La Rochelle.
