feelie - re. benefits: I know exactly how you feel. we are in the same position as you are. I get Incapacity benefit and DLA (Low rate care, High rate mobilty which I take as a motability car), but DH earns a very good wage so we aren't entitled to anything means tested either.

Someone made a comment about me once saying how "She doesn't pay council tax anyways..." It annoys me how people just assume if you claim one benefit, you must claim EVERYTHING and are some kind of state sponger. I am not, and I worked as long as I was able to and only claim what I am rightly entitled too. When my DLA recently came up for renewal, part of me felt like I didn't deserve the benefit. But when I started writing down what I cannot actually do, I realised how different my life would be without the adaptions I have had made to my home and my motability car - I would be a recluse (As was pretty much the case before I claimed benefit). So I am grateful for the benefit I get, although still feel slightly guilty for getting it still :o

Sorry for the long rambling post, I will get off my soapbox now!

Oh dear - I'm having a rant about the IVF thread and those stupid comments about cancer :mad::mad::mad:

    and breathe .............................

Probably should add it's not that I don't agree with IVF just the way someone is putting their point across.

I don't disagree with IVF either - just that they feel they should get priority when in the county in question the funding is already extreemly short (I would know - I live here! and my neighbours are both nurses so I see if both from a patient POV and theirs... they are already short of nurses and there are loads of cancer drugs that the trust won't use due to cost...) and they feel that they should get thousands of pounds of treatment for something that won't even guarantee they concieve when people are needing drugs that we can't afford to keep them alive?
    Nope don't think so!
Sorry Glam I'm ranting with ya! :D

Carry on!! That's why I keep replying - it's so annoying when people who are seriously ill can't get treatment.
I think the WANT vs the NEED is the big issue.

Right off home now - catch u's laters or tomorrow
I personally liked the car accident scenario - good thinking!

My kids are stressing me out! I know they are ill, I know they are feeling poorly, but being crabbit little !!!!!! is not helping me be sympathetic! I'm thinking they would feel better in bed with a dvd....

What do I want for my dinner? Kids had toast and jam, but I need something proper.

    Afternoon all! :)

I've been reading through and taking notes..

Glam, my OH is like that too. We always fall asleep spooning with him behind me and his hand on my bump – usually cos his hand being there (the heat maybe?) stops Bob from wriggling around so much so I can fall asleep!

Re: hypnobirthing – I’ve just bought a book and CD from eBay for £17ish. Lucifa73 used it (her birth story will be several threads back!) and I think AF had the book and CD too – try PM’ing her :)

Elle...a few pages back you mentioned you'd been sleeping with your V pillow. Are you still getting on OK with it? I'm still waking up with achey legs and think it's perhaps the extra weight so want to give the V pillow a proper shot. How are you sleeping with the pillow? Are you resting your bump under the pointy bit and then one of the long bits through your legs?

Ohh err missus! :p Yup, that’s how I’ve been doing it. One straight bit parallel to me tucked in close with my bump kinda resting on it, and the other straight bit between my legs. My bump is all in the middle so feels like it’s got a long way to drop down when I don’t have the pillow there to rest it on.

I'm in desparate need of moral support after having a really bad afternoon, night and all day today feeling so ill (and various greetings with the toilet bowl). I'm not sure I can make this at the mo.....as I'm only just into 10 weeks.

    HELP!!!

*hugs* I got nausea in the evenings which was very crappy – work all day, ill all night! I think everyone has different things which help, but for me it was actually eating – I just had to make sure I ate something despite not feeling like it at all. I used to have Go Ahead crispy slices, potato waffles with salt and vinegar, S&V crisps and plain toast – I’d wake up from a nap sobbing and wailing for OH to bring me plain toast! At about 14wks it changed to actually being sick in the mornings and that was actually better than the nausea! Lasted til about 20wks and I now only get it if I don’t drink/eat quick enough, which means I can do “wake up, sit up, stand up, bathroom, wee, kitchen, kettle on, half a mug of milk and down it” in about four minutes flat! :D

Yum! I had toast and jam for afternoon snack – never had it as a kid but it’s my new thing! :)

Hmm.. apologies for such a sprawlling post! Don't know where all the gaps came from! Anyway..

Big hugs for LL and Ali :(

Sami, hope you have had chance to have a proper chat with OH and come back tonight xx

I've hurt my hip :( Was making a cuppa, lifted the teabag out of the mug on a spoon but dropped the teabag again so jumped back so I didn't get covered in tea as the teabag landed back in the mug. As I did, I twisted funny and pulled something in my hip. Now feels like I'm walking with a limp.. most odd! It's also been one of those days where I develop random niggly pains all over  Nothing pregnancy related, I'm sure, just annoying!

Also managed to spill tea all over my top once I got home tonight as I was resting a full mug on my bump (still holding on!) and Bob decided it was forward roll time so that went all over too! Not having much luck with tea today...

Have brought three huge cardboard boxes home with me which I nabbed from the IT Dept (packing boxes for PCs). Going to make a start on the spare room again in a min.. OH has crashed out on the sofa so I assume he's not intending to help!

Sure I had something else to say.. it'll come back to me! :)
