    Hi All,

I'm in desparate need of moral support after having a really bad afternoon, night and all day today feeling so ill (and various greetings with the toilet bowl). I'm not sure I can make this at the mo.....as I'm only just into 10 weeks.

    HELP!!!:(_pale_

Aww, poor LCK. I remember lying in bed sobbing with Morning Sickness, convinced I could not get through it. You will cope though, its just hard. Hopefully it'll pass for you soon.

    Make sure you drink lots.

Aw hum someone started a thread about this
my advice is flat lemonade, ginger biscuits and bed!!

MrsT - I too have to look smart' for work - everyone else here gets a uniform bought for them but not me! I also have to travel to different sites so need a car in good working order - it works out cheaper to buy nearly new than keep spending £2k on a car every 2 years! Oh and I only get 44p per mile - that hasn't increased in the 5 years I've worked for the NHS yet petrol is waaaaaaay more now that it was.

I just think it would be nice to get something back for all the taxes I've paid over the years - I only want 9 months off but am like you going without little things to save the moeny.
Oh well, I'd rather spend time with bean than have a takeaway!

OH was saying last night how he will miss his quiet days off when bean arrives. ATM he just lounges around and chills out which I don't mind cos he works hard but he can't relax properly when I'm home :rotfl:

Feelie, it's went back down again to the 140's / 80's  See my consultant tomorrow for my scan. Hows yours? Sorry about the SPD, it's horrid but goes away once you have a tottie baby to run after.

    LCK, it gets better honest.

Re, Benefits. We get WTX (a whole £4.81 a week!) and CTC at £131 because DS2 gets DLA. Before he was diagnosed however, we got a grand total of £19.10 including the child care element (child care was £65 a week). And we didn't actually earn that much, I was just over min wage anmd DH was about £1.20 an hour over min wage. I don't begrudge anyone if they are entitled to it, but unfortunatly I know plenty who fiddle the system and have never worked (nor plan to) and they can afford holidays abroad, a new car every 3 years and drink every night! And then there is my mate who is entitled to nothing because she told them her boyfriend moved in.

After going up to 180/110  It has settled down to 130/70 which is very good. I'm hoping tomorrow will be stable too, and not another fluke high one! Strangely, I got three high readings, one on the machine and two manual ones, 20 minutes apart, so it was a valid reading and not an error. Very strange!

Don't like the side effects really, makes the baby really sleepy. I miss him moving all the time, now he spends most time napping.

    No strange dreams?

I used to have strange dreams before I fell asleep. I remember a blonde headed male nurse sitting on the end of my bed when I was in hospital. He was lovely, asking how I was feeling and if I was missing my son. Chatted to him for about 15 mins before another midwife came in to take my bp, male nurse left and I asked who he was. Midwife said there was nobody there...

Another night I was lying in my bed, the curtain was drawn (it was a 2 bed room). Suddenly the curtain started waving about and this guy walked in, set down 3 cat litter trays filled with syrup, chocolate sprinkles and hundreds and thousands, walked back out and brought in a pregnant lady on her hands and knees wearing a dog collar and lead and a bare belly, she crawled through each of the trays so her belly was covered in syrup and sprinkles!!! Three more couples came in and did the same before melting through the wall!! :rotfl:

And then there was the time I thought the bp monitor was the virgin Mary's donkey!!!

Hi girls, just a wuick reply, I'll try and log on again later, I am trained as a clinical hypnotherapist and was also looking at starting specific Hypnobirthing training before i found out i was pregnant. I did do some Hypnobirthing work as part of my training but it was always something i wanted to expand on more...

Hypnosis is great for controlling pain and allowing you to still be perfectly aware of the situation, i use it all the time in very normal situations, i now end up so relaxed at the dentists i have fallen asleep in the chair having a filling!

The only thing i would say is that you can only expect the hypnobirthing CD's to do so much, they are very general, whereas a one to one session would be more specific to your fears and your response to pain, but I still definitely think they have their place as having hypnotherapy can get very expensive.

    Hi all

    Re. benefits etc.
I was 18 when DS1 was born, but married (!), had DD 2 yrs later, then DS2 3 yrs after that. I didn't work until just before I was pg with DS2, then it was just cleaning at weekends, so DH could watch kids. When the youngest was at school, I started on a series of part time, school/uni jobs, that fitted in with the kids. I gave up my main job nearly 3 years ago, as it was becoming far too stressful (high school!). I work for my local register office at weekends, which I've done for several years - again DH had the kids as we couldn't afford childcare. The only benefits we've received were Child Benefit, the old FIS (about £10 a week), & currently child element only of tax credits, no WTC as we earn too much. We both come from families where you had to make do & mend, & generally cope with whatever you earned, & we have done even when things were really tight.

I have no problem with people claiming things/cash they're entitled to, but like MrsT, when you or your DH has paid into the system & then you find you earn just over the limit so you're penalised, it's galling. Have friends who really rip off the system, have never worked & no intention of, & they're far better off than us, but I think I'd rather do things the way we have - even if it rankles when their income is the same as ours for doing sweet FA!

When this little one arrives, I'll be 41, not earning a lot, but we nearly own our house, bills aren't too bad, we've been married 23 years & still get on! :D I don't think that's too bad for a former teenage mum! Sorry to rabbit on - hope I haven't upset anyone :o

Hugs & prayers to those in need, please help yourselves.
