AM is it the recovery bit thats bothering you the most?

My elective was easier to recover from than the emergency section, I was ironing 5 days after Ello was born and doing the school run the day after that but everyone is different so I don't know how helpful that is!

TBH the most difficult thing is getting all three of us up, washed, dressed, fed and up to school for 8.50!
Not particularly, i recovered in record time with DS, although i dont like the thought of being in hospital for up to 5 days! lol

    Hey there!

AM- I am using a free hypno birthing download from:
    http://www.free-hypnosisdownloads.com/downloads/free-downloads-standard-members/natural-child-birth.html

You have to sign up to be a standard member but its free, just needs your name and email etc. It basically reducates your brain that contractions arent pains.... they are waves of pressure. To be honest it is keeping me calm about the prospect of the birth so I am happy if thats all it does. I would like to be able to maintain this for the birth but am happy to use entonox, pethidine and epidural if necessary... being a first timer I dont know what to expect... my mum had a really bad experience with my birth which put her in hospital for 2 weeks, but used only gas and air giving birth to my brother so I am trying not to build up any expectations.
Ooh thank you for that, I will have a looksie this evening xx
See I had the lot with DS so know that if the pain is really that bad I have no quarms in having an epidural, which IMO is the best thing since sliced bread!

There isn't always blood in it....

Washing machine is totally kapoot. Typical that it happens when the kids are ill!!!

Not to state the obvious and you may have already done this, but have you checked the filter thingy? My washer/dryer wasn't doing what it was meant to and not draining etc- got the service man out and turned out there was half a credit card wedged in the filter that had been sporadically blocking the drainage and b***ering up the cycles (courtesy of my DH who never empties his pockets)- no idea where the rest of the card went but when the man removed it the machine worked fine.

    Hi Tickle

Thanks for that! Downloading as we speak (well, type!)
I shall burn onto a CD and play in the car - glad it has a British Accent. Don't think I could stand an American person - would get on my nerves.

(not that I've got anything against Americans - my best friend is American but the accent grinds on me)

I would advise against playing in the car.... it makes me fall asleep!! dont want to be responsible for a driver falling asleep at the wheel!!

    And back!
it was the nice midwife again! :j:j
She's there till just after easter so hopefully I'll get her again next time too *crossing fingers loads!*
Roo was behaving herself today - nice normal heartbeat.
Also glad it was the nice midwife as felt happier asking her about the chlamydia conversation - she was really lovely and said she doesn't know WHY in our area we don't screen for it as standard. Gave me a test kit (the one for the under 25s) and went through how to do it etc and just drop it off at the surgery. As I made an appointment with my GP for thursday to discuss the thrush I will drop it off then :)
As she said, she can see no reason why i SHOULD have it, but if it worries me then there is absolutely no reason I shouldn't test for it to put my mind at ease...
I want her all the time! :D

I can't get the flamin thing bloody open!

Been spending ages to see if we can get a grant to get a new one, DS2 is disabled and I remember being told by his OT about something (not the family fund).

Got my mop ready for when it decides to open.

AM - how is OH? I wonder if there is some stage of pregnancy that makes partners ill? OH is in bed now - he actually had to take a day off work he is so poorly, very unusual. I feel pretty rough too, hopefully won't go into labour with a cold, that wouldn't be fun.

Not sure if I updated yesterday, think I mentioned that he is engaged. BP is fine, but got some acid in my blood that they are keeping an eye on, and I'm dehydrated. Consultant tomorrow, although I just want to stay in bed.

Made the mistake of sitting on the bathroom floor while OH was in the bath yesterday - was a lot of tears trying to get up. SPD is a lot worse now his head is there.

    ((Hugs to all))

    Tia - how is BP?

Oh and she's not sure, but thinks she's turned head down now. The way she's laid doesn't make it very clear so if it's not easier to spot at 36 weeks she's going to ship me off for a scan to determine how she's laid :D

Returning to the benefits debate - I don't particularly think anyone should be tarnished for being pregnant 16 and or being on benefits - what grinds me the wrong way is that I don't get anything because both I and DH have worked very hard and invested a lot in getting up the corporate ladders... So because we have jobs that pay reasonably then we shouldn't get any support when we have children... THAT is what I think is very unfair.
I'll have managed to squirrel away about £2500 by the time Roo should be here but that's because we've done without - yes ok I know we have 2 nice cars, but whilst that looks like luxury we actually both have sections in our contracts that demand certain standards in our mode of transport due to the jobs we hold. DH gets a car allowance - I only get milage, but having old and cheaper cars are not an option for us with our jobs, so you could look at that and take the monthly car payments straight from our salaries before looking at what we ACTUALLY earn etc...
Then there is the fact we can't go into clients meetings in jeans and t-shirts - we're representing very large corporations and that means dressing to a certain standard, but we can't reclaim the costs of suits, drycleaning etc either, yet they are as much "tools" of our trade as spanners are to a mechanic or hammers and saws to a carpenter...
The only people I have a problem with being on benefits are people like my step sister... Who feel they are owed it yet are perfectly able to work, but don't WANT to... It's the inequality of the system I guess...
It's funny actually to see my half brother take after me instead of his other siblings (my steps) - he's on holiday at the moment from uni and because he's skint he's got a job packing in the warehouse for the company mum works for. What is he studying? Some very complicated engineering degree - and yet he's down in a warehouse packing clothes because he needs the money and doesn't want to ask my parents for it... I'm so proud of him! :D

I'm not sure where I stand on the whole benefits thing. We are quite an unusual couple I suppose, in that OH is highly paid, but I'm on benefits. We don't qualify for any means-tested benefits, I think we'd be over the threshold for WTC and CTC. I qualified for Incapacity Benefit under youth rules, and DLA. On one hand it annoys me that everyone seems to get more 'free' than us, but then again I find it strange that I'm give 'free' money that really, we do not need.

I think my gut feeling is 'if you can't afford it, don't get it' and I think that applies to having kids too. Mistakes happen though, so wouldn't want anyone punished for a mistake. Tough one!
